Wasn’t pope boniface the fella who got into cahoots with Philip the first of France to kill the templars and loot their cash?
Avoid.

I don't they liked each other. Long time since I've read up on the Templar history though, where Broken Sword was my teacher :D

I'd rather not. I think he decent, but I feel like there's better out there for that price.

Plus he's been a bit of a busy job this season. Only got one red card but he's been involved in more than a few hot headed moments where's he's been lucky to get away with it.

No you wouldn’t take him ? Cracking player I think. Admittedly not sure what his best position is tbh.

For 60m? Absolutely not.

He's done nothing to suggest he's worth that much imo.

Psr and all that.

Edit.

I just checked and he got 15 goal contributions this season in the league? If that's right it's decent but I still think 60m is too much.

Think he would be great here tbh, versatility for us would make it an even better signing. Not that it will happen mind, we aren’t spending that on a single player this summer imo.

Pretty much the same price and position as Cunha and he isn't close to Cunha's level in my opinion. Both have a red card in them as well.

There was an article a couple of weeks back saying we'd be happy to pay the £60 million for Cunha due to his versatility, as he could play a number of roles in our system.

Joao Pedro is a version of that type of player also, and so maybe it's the same thinking. We've liked him for a long time too.

In our system he can operate upfront, left, right, and as an 8 too.

His positions played chart over his career:

In lazy to check but this would obviously distract from his goal contributions.

@KaKa

He's not a 8 man.

We usually play our left sided 8 further forward in support of the striker, sometimes also overlapping down the left.

That's the role I am talking about, which Willock usually plays when he's in that position.

That role has to be extremely energetic and have good defensive instinct's. We've seen big Joe play that role whilst becoming a left back. I just don't see that in JP.

He wouldn't be starting there or playing a significant number of games there.

Moreso an option if the team is stretched due to injuries etc. More about having more players that can fill in at different positions to a serviceable standard at least, when needed.

The bigger issue for me is how he'd fit into the starting 11 if we bought him. Ideally, it would have to be down the left side, which would mean Gordon/Barnes playing more down the right.

Not sure that's in the clubs thinking.

I was wondering the same with the Cunha links too, and how he'd fit in.

As I remember it, all the talk was about us signing him and then we got Isak so all the hype about him was smoke and mirrors. Same trick twice?

In other news, Luke Edwards has confirmed there is no truth to us trying to sign Nantes goalkeeper Hugo Barbet. Maybe.
