NUFC Transfer Rumours

Grealish on loan? I think he could revive his form-career under Howe, and we could do something like half of his salary + 6-8m loan fee which covers his another half of salary for City. that way it doest blow our salaries within other players.

wouldnt do a permanent deal as not sure how ambitious he is long term. feels a bit like he gave up after their treble win, like won it all, what else there is to fight for...

but short term, in a WC year he might give his all...

Cant see loan signings and Eddie Howe fitting together.

No need to waste Eddie's ability to improve players on someone we aren't going to keep.

A 10 semi replaces a  the need for a CM. I would be content with Ross Barkley or Doucoure type singing for free or peanuts.

Id love Ederson, JP, Elanga and Guehi.

Thats a squad that can get to the QFs of the CL and get 75 points in the league. With a bit of luck that side can challenge for a title 80-85 points.

In:

Trafford

Forster (HG rules)

Guehi

Ederson

Madueke

Pedro

Out:

Dubravka

Vlach

Kelly

Longstaff

Willock

Probably in dream land there as that would be a net spend of at least £150m but that would massively improve us and give us lots of options.

£150m net spend is likely less than £50m on the books.

I think we’d struggle to get £40m for Willock, Longstaff and Vlach but I didn’t think it was possible to get so much money from Kelly.

Edit The net spend largely doesn’t matter.  It’s the accounting profit on sales that matter and the amortised cost of transfer and annual wages and bonuses.

I suppose the club can justify not buying a CM with the combination of Joao Pedro offering a 4-2-3-1 option, the occasional wing-back system and Hall being able to play LCM.

It's not ideal but, as long as the others get bought, it could work.

Miley has star potential, too.

I don't think we can sell the Greek keeper due to the PSR loss on his book value. All we can do is loan him out. We may have messed that one up, but a PSR high fee swapsies early in the window strikes me as an easy route to more headroom for squad building.

We should keep an eye on Villa and see how their situation develops. If they get in a hole, offer a big fee for one of their players conditional on them taking Vlach for 15M or whatever his book value is. Pass the PSR parcel.

When I've been considering taking advantage of teams in PSR trouble, I've spent as much time thinking about who we could fob off on them as who we could take.

We have a lot of deadwood that would be lucky to bring in anything at all.

I was thinking £15m for Willock, £15m for Longstaff and £10m combined for the two goalkeepers but as mentioned further down that would create a loss on Vlach so is pointless. Surely the Saudi's can give us a bit of cash for Dubravka and he has been keen to go there in the past. These may all be quite ambitious fees but as you say, I did not expect to get c.£20m for Lloyd Kelly so you never know!

Pretty sure it’s only Villa struggling with PSR isn’t it ? I could see is trying for Ramsey or Onana from them.

I think Onana would be an amazing signing but I can't see Villa selling him. I think they are expecting him to go to another level this season, he has so many qualities.

Agreed, just depends how desperate they need to sell I suppose.

Vlach is likely unsellable as he’ll have been paid over the odds to do the deal last year. And selling him for peanuts triggers a PSR loss on the books.

Best can hope for there is a loan with a bit of fee income

I don't think they will have problems shifting other players first. Martinez and/or Ramsey would be my bets for the pure profit that Ramsey would generate. Onana cost £50m so has a book value of £40m so they would have to sell for at least £60m you would imagine for it to make financial sense to even consider to sell.

Eventually you need the 4th option that’s on par with the 3 we have - Longstaff and Willock offer us nothing and hopefully are sold to allow such purchases

Nobody buys the old Ashley players, we won’t sell either of thosethem.

Think for the prices we'd be quoted from the selling clubs, you'd be looking at an outlay of atleast £250m for all that lot.

I'd be stunned if we ever forked out that much in one window, especially under PSR rules.

Not forgetting the wages that would need to be added in aswell.

I had the gross outlay as £210m (which may be ambitious):

Trafford - £30m

Forster - Free

Guehi - £40m

Ederson - £40m

Madueke - £50m

Joao Pedro - £50m

I have decided (I have not seen him play outside of one youtube compilation) that if we don't sign Rooney Bardhji (i looked up how to spell it twice and still missed) I will literally die.

Are people trolling when they say they’d have Madueke for 50m over Elanga for the same money? I’d completely understand if they thought we could get him on the cheap (as he’s got a lot Howe can work with) but the guy is one of the most frustrating wingers in the league; still plays like a raw, selfish teenager. Bit of a knob too by all accounts.

For the same money you go Elanga every time, surely.

Madueke looks a better player technically. I don’t think he plays in a raw way.

I view him as an all fart no shit type player. Not decisive in the box. His ceiling would be higher but I’m unsure about him mentally.  Elanga has that dawg in him.
