As someone who has no experience in sporting operations and has no idea how to overhaul a scouting network to ensure it's fit for purpose, get rid.

And by hiring an assistant, he clearly doesn’t care for the role because he’s handing off his responsibilities.

Dan didn’t need one.

Why did we try and sign that new Man City defender? Even if it was on loan and then buy in the summer, why can’t we do that with someone else?

It makes no sense for us to be the favourites to sign him (and arguably Guehi and Elanga) then realise we can’t actually afford him. It’s either not true or extreme incompetence.

The City defender we couldn’t afford until summer hence how City nipped in ahead of us.

Elanga we hoped to be part of the Anderson deal… so £20m of it covered. Forest refused and only offered us Vlac for £20m which we had to take.

Guehi one would suggest the sale of 3-4 players or 1 purple and probably didn’t go as far as people were lead to believe. By all accounts we stopped at around £50m.

Like most have said this coming summer is a big one and you’d expect a starting RCB, RW and guessing Trafford for GK.

After that no more than one main player a window going forward.

I think I speak for all the fan channels when I say Mitchell must personally sit down with them on Monday and discuss this mess of another window.  Can also ask his thoughts on Howe if we lose on Saturday.

The Elanga bid I meant was the alleged £35million one on deadline day. I don’t understand the rules at all but I’m more confused by the mixed messages tbh. Probably best to just wait and see unfortunately.

Then why have a go at him when you don't even know whether there was anything he could have done at all? We do actually at the very least know with a lot of certainty that there wasn't much room to do deals. That's pretty obvious by now.

Why are you even wasting your time responding to that?

Moving forward, the most important thing is him and Howe are working together. They seem to be now so the summer should be quite exciting.

Yes, this is absolutely the most important thing and it's looking good.

You can really tell listening to Howe, that there seems to be a better grasp of the situation and an acceptance of a new approach to navigate PSR.

I keep saying it, but between Howe, Nickson and Mitchell they are going to figure it out.

Affordable talent will come in and perform well under Howe's coaching, and we'll still end up with a competitive team.

Yep, such a different feel from the summer window when the whole club felt in a bad place.

Because I don’t think he’s making much of a positive contribution: our first team squad has not improved since he arrived, despite this being a key part of his remit.

TBH I was mainly joking, I’ve lost interest in nonsense of PSR, it sucks the joy from life.

I hope Mitchell's new assistant realises that if we get a few key injuries and this season goes tits up, Howe gets a free pass and I will blame him 100%

Latest Mitchell quotes in The Athletic:

“Me, lager. Eddie, lager. Nickson, lager sometimes cider, so different drinks for different…needs.”

Here is the full article below:

The phrase “Me, lager. Eddie, lager. Nickson, lager sometimes cider, so different drinks for different…needs” is a simple yet intriguing statement that hints at individuality, preferences, and the subtle complexities of human behavior. At its core, it reflects how people, even within the same social circle, can have distinct tastes and choices that align with their personalities, moods, or specific situations. Let’s unpack this idea further and explore its deeper implications.

First, the repetition of “lager” for both the speaker and Eddie suggests a shared preference, a common ground that binds them together. Lager, a light and refreshing beer, is often associated with casual socializing, relaxation, and a sense of familiarity. For the speaker and Eddie, it might symbolize a go-to choice, something reliable and comforting that fits seamlessly into their routines or gatherings. It could also represent a shared identity or camaraderie, as people often bond over similar tastes in food, drinks, or activities. The fact that both choose lager might indicate a mutual understanding or a sense of unity between them.

On the other hand, Nickson’s preference for “lager sometimes cider” introduces an element of variability. Cider, with its sweeter and fruitier profile, offers a contrast to the crispness of lager. This duality in Nickson’s choice suggests a more flexible or dynamic personality. Perhaps Nickson’s drink selection depends on his mood, the occasion, or even the season. Cider might be his choice when he’s in the mood for something different, something that breaks the monotony of lager. This variability could reflect Nickson’s adaptability or his willingness to explore different experiences, setting him apart from the more consistent choices of the speaker and Eddie.

The phrase “different drinks for different…needs” is particularly thought-provoking. It implies that our choices, even in something as simple as a beverage, are often tied to deeper motivations or desires. For some, lager might be the perfect drink to unwind after a long day, while for others, cider might provide a sense of novelty or excitement. These preferences can also be influenced by context—what feels right at a summer barbecue might not suit a cozy winter evening. The ellipsis before “needs” leaves room for interpretation, inviting us to consider what those needs might be. Are they physical, emotional, or social? Do they reflect a desire for comfort, variety, or connection?

Ultimately, this statement is a microcosm of human diversity. Even within a small group, there’s room for individuality and nuance. It reminds us that people are complex, and their choices, no matter how trivial they may seem, can reveal something about who they are. Whether it’s lager, cider, or something else entirely, our preferences are a reflection of our unique identities and the ever-changing circumstances of our lives. In the end, it’s these small differences that make relationships and interactions so rich and interesting.

Oh, sorry then.  I just see this type of fan (use the term loosely) being vocal on our group and their comments boil my piss.

We are sitting 5th in the Premier League, maybe/probably going to Wembley and the FA Cup is on the horizon.  Oh, and we were in the Champions League not long back.  All you moaners can fuck off!

And Howe did a terrible job around december/jan last season when we had like 14 players out, solely because we lost a lot of games when his job is to win games?

We should get Wor Fans to print that in big letters on a massive banner and hoist it up facing the East Stand

Nope, that’s a non-sequitur. Howe did a good job last year in trying circumstances.

I don’t mind if you want to see the positives with Mitchell, I just personally don’t see them based on his tenure with us to date.
