He was generally causing hammock for defenders that season, especially in the second half of the season. Lightning quick, even with the ball at his feet. He doesn't seem to have the same explosiveness anymore. Achilles injuries can be a nightmare.

Aye such a shame. Needs to go for his own sake.

Regarding Willock, i suspect quite a lot of us have forgotten how good he was in the 22-23 season when we finished 4th. He was consistently good and combined so well with Joelinton and also with Isak. He has great pace and ball carrying ability obviously, but also pretty decent technical ability, able to shield the ball very well in tight spaces. I know he has been struggling with fitness issues and understandably many of us want to upgrade him, but we will most likely have to shell out a fair chuck of our budget if we were to get a player of similar quality.

If we do decide to replace him, hopefully we can get someone like Fernandes from Southampton.

I don't think people have forgotten that TBF - but it was two years ago now.

He hasn't kicked on since and I dont personally he will ever become a top level player. What particularly worries me with him is that his game relies so much on trusting himself physically - but that he also keeps breaking down physically.

This might be the best time to get a decent fee for him from a London club - two years left and 26 in August. Personally I'd do it. I have no doubt there's a decent chance he'll do really well elsewhere too - it's just we need to keep re-cycling players at the fight time and developing the squad.

Callum Wilson was great that season too, but neither of them have shown anything like that sort of level in the past year.

I don’t know a great deal about Elanga other than glimpses of his ability on MOTD etc, but two things:

- we’ve wanted him in the last 3 windows so he’s obviously someone that Eddie sees a tonne of potential in.

- one of my best mates is a Forest fan who says his ceiling is incredibly high. On his day, his pace, dribbling and finishing is outstanding, apparently, but he’s a bit inconsistent. So if Eddie thinks he can get his consistency right, it could be a great signing.

He's relatively young as well, forget how early he broke through at Man U.

This is a fairly massive point, unlikely that his value drops significantly with us, more likely to go up unless we pay a ridiculous fee

Which we won’t. Around 50-55 million is the limit we seem to be bidding on players.

Does look that way, that seemed to be our cut off on Guehi despite noise of higher bids. I think we’d potentially go higher for a player like Guler but whether we could get a player like that is probably unlikely

I don't think they have a limit they will spend on any one player. I think we refuse to go above what we value a player at, still trying to train clubs that we won't be held to ransom for a Saudi tax.

I think that 50/55m figure is more down to us knowing we need a few players and still having a limited budget

My only concern with the Elanga transfer and possibly the Pedro and Trafford deals is for them to turn into a Guehi situation where we’re only offering X and the selling club won’t budge. I hope we have some alternative options or are pretty sure we know what it’ll take to get these players if that’s who we want.

Burnley have to sell so will ultimately accept an offer close to what we are offering. I also expect Pedro to be accepted for close to 55-60 that’ll include add-ons etc. Elanga is the one that will drag on.
