I never said he isn’t entitled to an opinion, just as I’m entitled to call him a maladjusted wanker who is spreading lies and fear using his privileged platform despite speaking from a position of zero expertise.  He’s absolutely allowed to do that.  I also said that they aren’t political opinions, because they’re not.

Why do folks like you always think that criticising someone’s opinion is the same as saying they aren’t allowed an opinion?  Probably best to calm yourself down and read what people have written first.  Peace and love xx

Saving this for the next time someone cries about not being able to say anything negative about the team. Perfectly worded.

So...

...erm...

The game...

We won. We're mint. It should have been about 5 or 6 and we shouldn't have conceded.

Need to watch the highlights back again but from their goal I initially felt that Burn shouldn't have been where he was but had to be as a result of no protection in front of Hall, Burn went out to help him out and as a result there was a gaping hole in the centre. Root cause was Gordon / Joelinton / other not providing protection to Hall. Once the ball is put in the box no one took responsibility for it or the initiative to mark. Poor communication and a poor goal to concede. Overall feel that whilst Gordon has some good stats he has blown a little hot and cold this season. Undoubtedly our most effective winger/wide forward though. Got to bag 3 points versus Fulham and get through the cup and then we're looking at very interesting times for the final third of the season.

A few things went wrong for their goal, but Tino’s lack of awareness there was abysmal. He’s often ball watching a bit too much.

Did he not end up marking 2 blokes considerably bigger than him on the centre of the 6 yard box, where were the 2 CB’s and Joelinton stands there watching ?

I said a few things wrong. I didn’t demand Tino to win a header against Bednarek, but he could and should have read and at least try to deal with the situation better. If he was more aware in that situation he could have at least been there challenging and trying to disrupt a free path for Bednarek.

he was also a couple of yards behind our defensive line for their goal that was given offside eventually. He loses concentration quite a bit tbh, needs to improve.

Re earlier conversation going on.......The real world ? Wtf does that even mean, everyone is in their own real world, psychotics undergoing an episode are in their real world.

Yeah, looked to me that because Burn was out of play Schar went across to take his man at the near post but neither Tino or Murphy moved across one so left him completely unmarked. Whether he could have won against a big fuckoff centre back is another thing, but he could have meade the header harder. We had a marker for each of their guys, Tino and Murphy just didn't get goalside.

For their offside goal as well, Tino played him offside fine, but he slows down to wave for offside for a second, he shouldn't be doing that, just letting the guy go clear he has the pace to keep up with anyone.

Caught between two stools. Tino comes in and the cross is deeper then he's criticised for that.

For the offside goal he played the offside itself perfectly and probably wasn't expecting Schar to leave it and no was was he getting anywhere near their scorer. Sometimes all you can do is stand and hope.

There’s a reason players need to read certain situations and anticipate what is going to happen to be able to defend or at least do something to make it more difficult for the opposition. Tino did nothing but standing between, or just off two players and not being near close enough or trying to make it more difficult for them by blocking a path, attacking the ball or at least be slightly closer and a bit physical.

It’s not the end of the world and it’s not the first time a player does it, nor the last time. But you can point your fingers at certain situations where player/manager/team should have done better, iYou don’t have to defend precisely everything.

In football people get praised and criticised, it’s the way it always has been and will be. As long as it’s not over the top either way.

Theres absolutely no chance that Howe is happy with our defending for that goal.

I'd say for defending you get goalside, you don't stand behind the attacker and give him a free run at the ball, particularly one in the middle of the six yard box.

For the offside, I agree he played offside well. But he was following the guy's run and then slowed for a moment to wave for offside and let the guy get away. Absolutely no reason to stop there, VAR will check offside anyway, he should just follow the run as he has the recovery pace to get back. If he misjudges it in future which is easy to do that could cost. Not a good habit there IMO.

I've just watched it back 3 times and you are saying he have gambled on Schar leaving it ? You see Tino step up as much thinking Schar will play it as playing offside.

Don't get the Tino criticism here, it's all Schar in my eyes.

Thoughts on the actual goal? The right back had far too much time to deliver his cross. Hall and Burn were covering the more advanced player, think it was Walker-Peters. No one was manning up Bree who crossed it. Gordon should have been on Bree. But he was jogging back from the halfway line.

Thought it was pretty obvious that I was talking about their goal…

Im not fussed about the disallowed goal. That was all on Schär.

We had a 2v2 tbf but when Burn went to ground and didn't win it Hall had to fully commit to him. At the end of the day it's very difficult to completely stop people putting crosses into the box from deep and it was a good cross to a totally unmarked player in the middle of the 6 yard box. The lack of marking was the main issue to me.

I think Gordon staying higher up is tactical personally, we do that quite a lot with him.

Even their allowed goal I think is being ultra critical of Tino. As the ball is played he has 2 attackers, no one track Badnerak. If anything he's caught a bit flat footed, naturally as he's also covering the other two. More so it's a massive Joelinton failing

Nice assist but I thought Gordon was pretty poor yesterday again

What do you think was poor about his game? I thought he had a good overall game, and certainly nothing to be worthy of labelling poor.

Just to shamelessly repost an earlier one, as I feel it's pertinent to your view:

I feel like Gordon is a touch underappreciated at times and seems often called out for average performances when I've found myself seeing a lot of positive stuff from him.

I think his all round quality has improved quite a bit since last season insofar that he'll often make progressive passes and show good composure in his decision making. He also seems to always try to make something happen, particularly when in a deep position. He has a knack of doing a really simple stepover and reverse that more often than not takes him round and clear of his marker and opens the opposition up for us to break on.

Ultra critical

He was flat footed doing nothing. He should have tried to be more on his toes  at least trying to go for the ball. That’s the best and the least he can do in a difficult situation with 2 others around him. If he had tried to attack the ball or ran towards where it was going then it would have at least made it more difficult for them if he was at least in that space trying to challenge physically. He wasn’t the only one at fault for their goal obviously not. But doing absolutely NOTHING is never a good idea. The awareness wasn’t there and he just froze basically.

I thought his passing and decision making wasn't at his best

A week of facing up against Lewis Cook and James Bree, I don't think he's been as devastating as he can be.

He was better yesterday than last weekend but didn't think he was good
