54
E is probably right, given his injury this past year, and his age, but it feels proper shit given it was only last season that he pocketed both Mbappe and Dembele. Ā
gbandit
Canāt in good conscience give Lascelles more than an E at the present timeĀ
Vedder
D+, C-, B, C- and probably an E Ā Great thread but depressing reading so far! Edited 19 hours ago by Vedder
Cf
Jamaal Lascelles ends up with an E+ which is probably about right but feels a bit harsh to me but that's what doing your ACL at his age does I suppose.Ā Ā We get a break from defenders now for a bit and move onto Joelinton. Ā I was torn between B and C here, and I think not long ago would have given him a C but I think this season and last has shown how much of an engine he gives us in midfield. Would he be what every team needs? No. And perhaps he suits certain games more than others for us. But when he's needed and on his game he's very very good.Ā
GEFAFWISP
C although it could be argued he's a B for our team/system with the way he covers the left side and allows room for Gordon (or previously Willock) to stretch teams with his defensive capabilities/covering. Difficult to replace his contribution, a unique player.

gbandit
I think Joelinton is overall a B. I think for us heās probably more often a C nowadays because of our shift to being less āintensity is our identityā. I think for a lot of clubs heād be a B if they found the right way to use him
Lush Vlad
Agree with the last three posters.Ā Ā Iād say a B. As he plays a role in our team that covers 3 positions at once. Heās very unique with his skillset and is a monster in probably at least 4-5 games a season for us.Ā Ā If he is just being graded as a wide player or a CM in general. Then heād be a C.Ā
Kid Icarus
Joelinton's the first of the very clearly B-/C+ category that a lot of players will fill.
Geogaddi
Joelinton is a B at worst , people criticise him but we miss him massively when he's not playing.
Miggys First Goal
What Iām getting from this thread so far is that we need a complete overhaul in ALL areas.Ā Ā Somebody send this to the powers that be.Ā
TheBrownBottle
I missed Lascelles, who is an E. Ā Joelinton is a solid C for me. Ā No chance heās one of the best in either the LW or CM positions in the league. Ā He isnāt our best LW, and isnāt one of our best midfielders, for starters. Ā Still love the lad and he is an asset.Ā

TheBrownBottle
Question - I thought the idea was to rank the players generally in a wider context, not on their ranking within the squad? Ā It does look like folks are ranking Joelinton based on his worth to us, not on who he is generally

Doing a job falling into the back line, middle, left and right boosts him "on his day" to a easy B.Ā If I only thought him in the middle of a 3 and only that it might be a C+ instead.Ā
The Prophet
Depends on what kind of side you have.Ā Ā If you play highly technical football with a traditional defensive mid he's probably a C. Stick him I'm a side that thrives on transitions and physicality and he's a B. Edited 3 minutes ago by The Prophet
