SAK
Not sure why Wissa gets so much hate. He had a bad injury, missed pre season, took a long time to get to a base level of fitness and was out of form. Edited 14 hours ago by SAK

I was at a few games toward the end of the season, in a couple he didn’t even bother coming out to warm up. When he has to at half time, he may as well have stayed sat down. SAK
2 minutes ago, ffs said: because he didn't really seem bothered about any of it Are we gauging how bothered someone is by how much running around they do and could being unfit affect that?

SUPERTOON
Just now, SAK said: Are we gauging how bothered someone is by how much running around they do and could being unfit affect that? Howe said months before the season ended that he was fully fit, and fitness wasn’t an issue.

He also said we were struggling because we were in Europe and had no time to train properly between matches. We continued to struggle once knocked out and had one game a week... Miercoles
The Portuguese defending there was incredible. Anyway I hold onto some hope that last season was an aberration and we have a decent premier league striker in Wissa this time around.

With the deep cup runs and all the stupid international breaks it feels like we hardly ever had a normal game week. I'd be very curious to see the actual number of PL games we had with a full six days of preparation beforehand. My guess would be ≤10 out of the 38. Of course that's the price you pay for being successful so obviously we have to adapt to it, but still the lack of training time is a valid issue. It's valid sure, but Eddie will have to find a way around it if we want to be in Europe regularly. Edited 12 hours ago by Joe1984
Mills and Boon
Looking at him here, I think Wissa wrote off the arse end of the season a bit and nursed himself through it with an eye on the World Cup. Understandable if he did as it's probably his only one, but obviously not great for us. I'm hoping he comes back and hoys all his eggs in our basket

No argument there. We need a few value signings alongside the key players to bear stone of the load. Not confident we will get that though.
