If we get him and Wissa, and he’s shit, we’d probably get the money back from Saudi in a years time. There really aren’t many other options now and I’d trust Wissa to score goals regardless of Jackson.

IF we end up with Jackson after the cartel have hoovered up all the goodies and sold us a pup with their cast offs. I bet Eddie will somehow get the best out of him, however he has to shoehorn him into a system. You watch. IF we get him that is.

You’d fucking hope so for £80m like

Ramos isn’t the answer either.

We don’t have an answer. There’s a few reasons I’ve listed why Ramos would be better than Jackson

Fucking kill me now.

Plus given how this total holocaust of a transfer window has played out, every club and their dog knows we are absolutely desperate for strikers and will more than likely pay way over the odds.

Liverpool have royally fucked us in so many ways with this Isak shit.

51 goal contributions in 100 league games. Not bad for a no mark.

As I said before tho look at Jackson’s goals for Chelsea. We don’t have a Cole palmer type that can just lay it on a plate. Isak is lethal Jackson isn’t

Fair point, I'm just disputing that he's a bad player.

It's relentless. Folk whinging in every single thread about everything

FWIW - I don't rate Jackson at that price either, but based on the records folk are posting I feel I've been perhaps holding him in a worse regard than he actually is.

The Sesko transfer is yet to be 'off', as is the Wissa one and the Isak one is as off as both of those. We all seem to think we have money to spend too.

I get it, I really do get it, that it seems fairly shite but fuck me its relentless on here like  we could sign any one (or two) of these people and keep Isak for the season yet.

A 1 in 3 striker who will be at afcon at a price of 80m which if hyperthetically speaking if the fee we get for isak is around 130m all but the isak money gone on a player who is 24 who would at best take us backwards in terms of output and massively refills the coffers of a side who we want to compete with more than doubling their money.

I really do understand the draining effect the negativity has on some posters. I know the club are trying but its been ego bruising summer for club and supporters alike. Not much to be getting excited about when the reality of a 60 game season where your top 4 rivals have all massively strengthend and you as a side have weakened on paper except RW. Remains to be seen how the older players being another year older will impact performances as well.

Coupled with in my head and possibly wrongly preception we did our PSR penance and did nothing to the first team for multiple windows. Achieved the dream won the trophy got back into the elite competition of the champions league. It is our time to flex some transfer muscle get some much needed competition in areas and help in others so players who never get injured aren't flogged. Instead we have Wilson gone no replacement, longstaff gone no replacement, willock on the treatment table AGAIN, snippets of tonali knee and botman niggles fitness issues.

I cant get my brain into sunshine and rainbows mode right now (not suggesting that's what your doing either). Its not the ashley years or PIF out. We have Eddie we have some fantastic players we just dont have all the ingredients for success right now.

Time to turn it around yes, manager who will work as hard as possible to extract maximum results from the squad yes.

However at this stage 10 or so days before the season starts its hard to be massively optimistic with a gruelling season ahead that its not going to be tough. A poor season next year could have massive ramifications of who actually wants to stay at the club and the pretiege and preceptorship it has to potential summer 26 signings.

For teams wanting to break the top 6 it needs to be multiple years back to back to stop this flash in the pan brush I feel like we're getting tarnished with.

There are examples of players throwing their toys out of the pram and then having monster seasons ie. Suarez 13/14, Ronaldo 08/09, Kane 22-23.

No way. 80 million is ridiculous for him.

We can't even have a decent conversation about him at that price. If it was £50m you could make a case.

It will be cheaper if we do, may even be a loan with option to buy.

We’re direct rivals, he’ll not be coming here for free. They’ll be gagging to take the piss and see how desperate we are.

I do think me and others are going over the top slightly but for me it’s the full picture - price - replacing Isak - the player. I just don’t think he’s good enough to replace Isak and certainly not at that price

He's a massive downgrade on Isak. But he'd be a good replacement for Wilson.

Had a quick look and the Chelsea Reddit and they are mostly pretty complimentary, saying the fee isn't actually that bat-shit if you're comparing him to Sesko and plenty saying they'd rather keep him. Certainly not the id carry him to Newcastle myself posts I expected [emoji38]

Nobody is good enough to replace Isak, that bar is too high, we need to be thinking more or somebody who will just score goals at this point because as it stands we’re fucked.

I completely agree with Gol et al that £80 million is a mad asking price.
