He’s been pretty damn good over the whole season so far for us as we sit 9th. Not sure what people expected out of him - have some bloody patience. He’s not isak. Never was. And our support players need to play better to his strengths + Nick needs to continue adapting to new league and play style. Not sure why that is so hard to process.

Maybe because you’re perma-miserable bastards who can’t ever feel happiness? I know what we've had a fairly routine home win against a team that are generally good on the road, what I’m going to spend my energy doing is critique everything that didn’t go 100% right 🤦🏻

This place is full of bitter ‘I told you so’ types. Who keep the receipts for months on end and revel in supposedly being proven correct. Even if it is a negative for NUFC.

Worst posters without fail. Always frame it that their opinions were crazy at the time and everyone else is stupid too. Pathetic behaviour.

Already got 9 goals. He'll be reet.

He's still young and finding his game in a new country with new faster style of play playing two games a week until recently. He's doing well.

To be fair I'm doing that with nick pope just because I'm one of the few people that really likes him.

Just don't be a smarmy get about it and you'll be fine.

Pope is love, Ramsdale is shite.

He absolutely needs to bust a gut more at certain times, need to have better box instincts at times and gamble on runs, sure. All of that can be improved on and also we as fans can also give him a break and some benefit of the doubt. It’s not like we weren’t told by everyone who scouted him that he is a unique talent that needs to develop more.

You’re preaching to the converted there brother. I love Big Nick (P and W).

I generally think it's a bit childish when fair criticism (that he wasn't getting himself into the right position at times) is met with the classic "how dare you criticise him, he scored goals" stuff. But if the purpose of the forum is to cheerlead every player and not discuss both negatives and positive, then my bad.

I'm happy Wissa is back, and the impact it has on us is clear to see.

I agree. Just look at how many "I told you so" posts that are in the Howe thread right now. Instead of enjoying the win.;)

Not sure it’s comparable? That’s to do with arguably the best manager the club have ever had (in most of our lifetimes, certainly) and a load of impatient fuckers who want him sacked at the first sign of prolonged bad form.

There’s plenty on here that can’t wait to repeat themselves on loop about player X being shite, or Y not being good at this or that. Now they’ve played a handful of games. Of course they’ve been proven correct.

Even if you have been proven correct. Who the fuck cares? Have a gold star and fuck off.

The midfield simply isn't good enough. There were two instances today where Wolte made a run forward, and instead of being given a vertical pass, the ball was played out wide again. You could see how it should be done with Wirtz's first goal: a short through ball into space, and he slotted it past the goalkeeper.

I think people are being harsh considering some of the goals he's scored so far are completely down to his movement / positioning.

I still don't think our wingers are communicating with him properly rather than him being too mobile

Handsome well to score as many as he has. But you can see that he could easily have more if he was consistently aggressive and moving sharply in the box.

Last season was his first season playing consistent Bundesliga football and only half those minutes as a striker. He’s got a lot to learn and to develop but that’s natural.

I do wonder how many starts we will see from Wolte for rest of season if Wissa is now fully fit?

I suspect Wissa will start more, which I’m not keen because it would be a sign that Howe is defaulting back to previous ways.

1. Nick looks a lot sharper and quicker now, which is nice to see. He doesn’t need to panic - just continue to train, build up his fitness and understanding with his teammates. He has a crucial summer coming up.

2. He can now closely observe and learn from Wissa. Just like what the above said, there were two excellent runs by Nick near the end of the game which weren’t picked up by his teammates. It’s also a sign that Nick is starting to “get it”.

Nick is a special talent. I think he has the potential to be a genuinely complete modern striker. Give him time.

Yeah, it would annoy me a bit if he's permanently a sub because he's been the most interesting thing about the season. But, there's really no rush and he has everything to be a top player.

There were signs with those previous 2 goals that he was being told to get on the end of things in the box more.

Overall our problems were with the team rather than Wissa v Woltemade, but I can see why Eddie would go with the proven PL scorer for a while.
