He said he eats some fish, there must be loads of athletes who are vegan/vegetarian though

There have been NFL players who are built like wardrobes who were vegan or predominantly plant based. You quite clearly can be a vegan/veggie and play elite sport FFS

Defoe was vegan iirc.

Nick and Nate Diaz as well I think.

That really wasn't very nice of you. Especially as an administrator, you shouldn't make such a comment to an active member. If I were offended, I would withdraw from this discussion...

You should report him to the administrators ombudsman for his conduct.

Hopefully this doesn't mean we need to hire Russell Martin to get the best out of him though 😅

Don’t want woke Martin anywhere near us

Nick is just too nice a guy. I also think he should go into tackles harder. Screw it if the defender takes a beating. He really needs to learn to be a tough guy on the pitch.

Yeah he needs to play like joelinton really

The vegan comments are daft - of course a pro athlete can be one.  Protein is protein - your body doesn’t give a shite where it gets the necessary nutrients.

Not entirely correct, protein is formed from various amino acids, individual plant based protein sources generally don't contain all of the essential amino acids needed by the body. Whilst plant protein sources can provide all of the essential amino acids needed they generally need to be mixed to do so, such as rice and beans. So it does take a bit more understanding and effort for a vegan to get enough of all of the essential amino acids, but obviously an athlete working with a nutritionist will have the support for that.

A lot of evidence it's actually better in terms of recovery etc.

Mrs BB is a dietitian of long-standing and has confirmed numerous times that this is not the case

He just doesn’t look at the races to me.  I keep reading that he’s not a traditional centre forward but a secondary striker, yet he appears to have very few of the attributes that make for really good ‘10s’.  His decision-making and distribution aren’t particularly great.  Lad needs to just start busting a gut and getting into the right areas.  Do the basics right and see if the rest comes with it.

Another passive cameo from a player who is not too arsed about getting in the box and scoring goals.

Im not sure I've seen him sprint to get on the end of a cross - he jumps shorter than his standing height and he runs slower when needed in the box.

We have two lazy half arsed strikers who both seem MIA.

I’d be tempted to have:

LW: Barnes/Wissa

CF: Nick/new signing

RW: Gordon/Elanga

At this point.

Getting Woltemade to work is going to take time and he needs plenty of minutes with narrow wide forwards playing off him.

Big Wolts problem is that he doesnt have the mentality of a poacher/goal getter.

Elite #9s don't look for the ball, they look for space.

He has more of the mindset of a playmaker. Hes looking to see where the ball is so he can stop and try to recieve it into his feet.

Thats why he always looks on his heels and late to react to balls into the box.

Going to need to be coached to change the way he thinks if hes going to be a longterm #9 for us

He’s got nothing in his locker which suggests ‘playmaker’ other than ‘he doesn’t have a striker’s instinct’.  His game needs a fair amount of development - at present he looks like Shola mk II.

Exact thing my mate said today at the game.
