Manchester City 3-1 Newcastle United [LCSF 2nd Leg] (04/02/26)

Recommended Posts

I didn't expect to win last night, injuries, recent fixtures, away form, and already being 0-2 down from the first leg.

What concerned me though, was how easily we were 3-0 down before half time. It was like City barely needed to get out of 2nd gear.

First goal is a bit unlucky, Burns tackle coming back off Marmoush and spinning up and over Ramsdale, but the other two goals, just terrible.

2nd half we improved, but how much of that was City taking their foot off the gas and treating it more like a training session?

Is saturday against Brentford a 'Must Win'?

It would certainly be incredibly grim is we lost against them, given the week we've had.

Honestly think if Elanga had scored that goal against Villa on the first day, and otherwise had an identical season, he'd still be riding off the back of it.

Please take the next comment in the spirit it is intended (), but it reminded me of one or two Messi goals in the way he skinned a couple of players right on the touchline before tearing into the box and scoring.

Such a good goal.

They're currently highlighting the massive gap between midfield and defence for us. This isn't new, but we're not addressing it through our tactics or potential signings. We need a defensive midfielder to cover this space moving forward because we're not scoring and conceding a ridiculous number of goals.

Miley is made for that role, IMO

I see poor Pep was whinging about how unfair it is that Guéhi can't play in the final. The bloke's an insufferable cunt and he's getting worse.

Far to much over thinking on here about last night. We got beat, off what I think, is still the best team in the country. Regardless of how we played generally, we are suffering from the same old problems that we've had all season, and that's is, we're creating chances but not taking them. Simple. I can't remember ever going there and creating so many chances. We've never won at Man City since 18 fucking hundred and 56 and some posters thought last night was the final straw for Howe! I would genuinely like to see a list with the potential replacements that posters would want.
