LooneyToonArmy
more defenders bought by other teams: http://www.football365.com/story/0,17033,8652_1873093,00.html never heard of them but Allardyce has a knack of buying unknowns who turn out to be very solid ,making them into very wanted players ie: Ben Haim

Cajun
Speaking of which why the hell arent we in for Ben Haim? Yes he might be waiting for Chelsea but then he may want his future sorted before the summer. Anything up to £5m is a bargain!
Skirge
Speaking of which why the hell arent we in for Ben Haim? Yes he might be waiting for Chelsea but then he may want his future sorted before the summer. Anything up to £5m is a bargain! Big Sam has refused to sell him mate. Bolton boss Sam Allardyce has ruled out letting Tal Ben Haim leave the club in the January transfer window. Media reports on Wednesday linked Chelsea with a renewed bid for the Israeli international defender. However, Allardyce has rejected the rumours, with Ben Haim expected to see out his contract before moving on in the summer. "There won't be anyone going out now," Allardyce told The Bolton News. Allardyce has revealed that Chelsea have never made a firm offer for the stopper, although discussions did take place. Negotiations between Bolton chairman Phil Gartside and Chelsea chief executive Peter Kenyon broke down earlier in the month. Allardyce said: "There has never really been an offer on the table. "There's been a lot of discussion but never really an offer to consider accepting."

stozo
5 HOURS? IS IT FIVE HOURS LEFT UNTIL THAT DEFENDER COMES? :clock: GLENN!?!?!? You do realise that defender was Gavrancic and the deal broke down, so there will be no new signing in the next few hours.
Cajun
Did he refuse to sell him or just refuse to accept Chelseas offer? I remember him said something like he doesnt think he will be there in the summer but its up to him. Would he (or the board) refuse £5m when he is likely to leave in the summer? Not good business sense.

Skirge
If he is finding it to hard to get players to coe then he needs more targets, Gooch would be a good signing yet he ruled him out in an instant. Go fkn sign him Roeder you fkn foolish man!

Indeed, I hear from the south coast that Roeder has been in touch with Southampton about Bale, who he rates as the best young left-back in the game. Contacts in Southampton tell me Roeder was prepared to buy Bale and then lend him back to Southampton for the rest of the season, the United boss is not at the races. WHAT??? We are so desperate for a left back, that we were gonna possibly pay a rediculous transfer fee, then loan him back to the club we had just paid the money to? But, I expect a statement from Roeder later denying any interest in Gravgaard also! MJ MJ

Still that wont be Shepherds fault, oh no! http://www.newcastle-online.com/nufcforum/index.php?topic=35515.0 See that new thread, he has no transfer kitty. On top of that it sounds like Shepherd let him draw up his list of expensive players and then only at the start of January told him we had no money. ToonTastic
WHAT??? We are so desperate for a left back, that we were gonna possibly pay a rediculous transfer fee, then loan him back to the club we had just paid the money to? The reason is simply because Southampton won't let the player leave this season so if they do it's top dollar plus the player stays till the end of the season. Else the fee would be even more than £10m.
Ashley17
.com says we're in for a striker on loan 'in the Rossi mould' which means one of the top 4's youth strikers - best not start guessing that too or we'll be here weeks.

Maybe Big Sam can learn Roeder some things about how to actually sign good players on the cheap I know its not only Roeder's fault not having any signings but Big Sam show us that you can sign good players when you have limited budget Why Fat Fred didnt try to bring Hitzfeld here??? Why? Why?
