Baggio
I still don't get this Bramble/Ramage thing. You have two defenders: 1, Makes stupid mistakes but has decent pace, is strong in the air, can put in a quality crunching tackle, occasionally (very) can pick out a beatufiul 40 yard pass, scores the odd goal and every now and then puts in a very good performance (especially in Europe) but just isnt consistant enough and has a bad habit of only playing for 85mins. 2, Makes stupid mistakes, is slow, quite weak in the air, awful distribution, has had about 4 "decent" games. Now I reckon 99% of the forum could work out which was which but apparently defender number 2 is the better one. Wot? You're saying someone thinks Ramage is better than Bramble? mackems.gif Northern Monkey thinks Taylor and Ramage are our best CB pairing...

GeordieDazzler
Find it strange so many people have put Emre and Parker in the middle, didnt we spend the start of the season finding out that it doesnt work?
Guest Geordiecunny
Given Solano Gooch Taylor Edgar Milner Butt Emre N'Zogbia Owen Martins Subs: Krul, Moore, Sibierski, Parker, Dyer top 4 team IMO when all on form.
Dr. Nguyen Van Falk
Owen and Martins will rip teams a new hole, already seen how much trouble Martins causes and thats without one of the best goal getters in the game playing along side him. Seems to me an intelligent, hard working player who needs first team opportunities. To say the very least he shits all over baba. We probably do need a new left back, but I don't think we should splash the cash on someone fairly young and expensive. Cheap and experienced to fill the gap till Edgar is ready to step in as a week on week regular who won't cost too much.

I do like Edgar, however he's no more a left back than Taylor is a right back, square pegs in round holes and all that.
Guest JamesD
I like edgar aswell, but not the quality to be in a top 4 team, which is what your post said.
Guest Geordiecunny
Fair enough, perhaps not yet. I think some day fairly soon that will be the case though.
Guest JamesD
i think edgars got some serious potential, and i rate him higher than huntington. hopefully he develops to his fullest, would be great to see.

M4
ROeder's 11 when everyone is fit is probably: Given / Carr - Taylor - Bramble - Babayaro / Milner - Parker - Emre - Duff / Ameobi - Owen Anyway my squad would be: Given / Solano - Taylor - Onyewu - Huntington / Milner - Butt - Emre - Nzogbia / Martins - Owen Subs: Harper - Edgar - Parker- Dyer - Sibierski

Yorkie
I'm genuinely shocked by the number of people who are selecting Parker-Emre in the middle.
Rich
I'd be a nutter and play super-attacking at SJP with this line-up: Given Solano Taylor Onyewu Duff Milner Dyer Emre N'Zogbia Owen Martins Subs: Krul, Bramble, Butt, Parker, Ameobi. Such a dull bench would allow us to play a lot more defensively towards the end of the game, if necessary . Away from home would look more counter-attacking, with a narrower set-up for defending in two banks of four and pace up front/out-wide for the breaks: Given Solano Taylor Onyewu Babayaro Dyer Parker Butt Emre Owen Martins Subs: Krul, Duff, Milner, N'Zogbia, Ameobi. (Who needs defensive cover?)
