This needs to be a challenge, to name all of them without cheating.

Struggling on most of the top row,

The two between Ketsbaia and Lee?

I'm sure the guy next to Shearer was Australian? I'm struggling.

I think one of them is Paul Robinson. Shearer replacement for that wet nightmare night against the mackem’s. Gullit

If we left the city centre it would be extremely detrimental. Many away fans put Newcastle as the top away day experience as all the bars and restaurants are so close, oh and that the Geordies are fucking class, which we are to be fair.

100% agree with the need for a city centre location but I do not understand one of the reasons being away fans as has been mentioned a few times in this debate. I can't think of any group or factor that is less important in this debate than away fans. Who cares what they think?

The new Athletics stadium looks rad too:

That looks mint. Like if Zaha Hadid designed the Sydney Opera House.

It's more how moving away from the city centre would have a detrimental effect on the Matchday economy of the whole city. NCC would surely want this considered when approving an area for the new stadium.

Helps when you have disposable income unlike in the UK.

Probably true. I was shocked how much overpriced food people were buying, over and over. That said, it was still a different experience in the store.

Your best bet in Newcastle - assuming that you have the space - is to incorporate other forms of entertainment into the stadium.  Hoy in a casino, several bars and restaurants, all that sort of stuff.  If we built on, say, Castle Leazes, there’s nowt at that end of town.  Also add a hotel etc.  You’d want to absolutely maximise income.

We’re not going to get NFL games a la Spurs - nee bugger would be interested.  Newcastle is a city famed for its nightlife - make the club part of that, and get some coin in.

For me, if they have to move, it can only be to another city centre location.  There will be additional problems to consider if they moved away from the centre.

A stadium outside of the city would have major transport issues.  The majority of traffic including public transport would be heading back to Newcastle  for onward travel whilst currently the traffic goes in all different directions.  Most can get away relatively quickly whether that is to the metro, bus, car park, pubs etc.  An out of town stadium would need huge improvements to the public transport infrastructure.  Build huge car parks and it will take forever to get away.  They might want to keep the bars etc open after a game but with the increased journey time many will want to leave quickly promptly.  Rearranged kick off times will be even more of a problem for those who travel to games from distance.

I think being in the city has helped the club in bad times as people have continued to go.  Easier to sack it if when it is a pain to get to.

And of course there are the economic benefits to local businesses with being based in the city.

Why would no one be interested in NFL games?

It’s not exclusive to residents of Newcastle to attend. Many NFL fans for the London games are from America and elsewhere in Europe.

We have connections to elsewhere in Europe with our airport and the DFDS ferry.

On top of this, the U.K.’s USA sports merchandisers was founded and is still based in North Shields.

It’s a shame we don’t have a relatively good size neutral stadium nearby, because adopting Spurs approach and building on same site slightly further north would be best scenario, but also the most expensive.

Would likely mean 12 months maybe more playing elsewhere, and there’s only Sunderland nearby…

I don't ever think we'd get close to the lows of Ashley days - absolutely not.  But to fill 70, 80, 90k you will need to be performing.

We could fill 70k every week now if we had the capacity, as a mid table team. Every match has been sold out and apparently the ballot success rate is around 25%.

Mowden Park in Darlington could be an option, at a push
