From BBC.

The Football Association is to investigate claims Newcastle midfielder Emre racially abused Bolton forward El-Hadji Diouf in a Premiership match.

The incident allegedly took place at St James' Park on 15 October.

"We will be contacting El-Hadji Diouf to see if he wishes to provide us with a statement," said an FA spokesman.

Emre, 26, already faces a personal hearing after denying a charge of using racially-aggravated language in his side's defeat at Everton in December.

Why on earth has it taken so long to come to light?

Don't think he ever will, mate. Looks as if this will be the final nail in his coffin.

Damn shame like. He's one hell of a player, really coming into his own this season. But, racism can be neither condoned or defended. Whatever punishment he gets, he'll deserve.

A career in Spain beckons? They love their racism over there!  :uglystupid2:

The FA are out of order announcing publically that they're going to ask Diouf if he'd like to make a statement.  Talk to the bloke privately.  Announcing to the media that you plan to talk to Diouf achieves nothing other than making the supposedly innocent-until-proven-guilty Emre look like an even bigger racist.

Exactly. Mud sticks, and he's going to really struggle to continue to play in this country, even if nothing is ultimately proven.

FFS. Well thats that then.

Doesnt matter whether he is guilty or not, cant see him sticking around just to get jibes of away supporters and more tabloid trash each time he looks at someone in distain.

If he has said these things he has dug his own grave, if he hasnt we should sue.

Either way we are likely to lose a player that could have been pivitol in our future, more than likely for peanuts at the end of the season too.

What part of this indicates you think he could still be innocent?

From Football365:

The Football Association are to launch a second investigation into claims that Newcastle midfielder Emre used racist language.

A newspaper report today alleged the 26-year-old Turkey international, who has been charged by the FA with using racially-aggravated language during the defeat at Everton on December 30, made a comment to Bolton striker El-Hadji Diouf during a game at St James' Park in October.

He is alleged to have called the Senegalese striker a "f***ing ape".

An FA spokesman said: "We will be looking into these allegations and will be contacting El-Hadji Diouf to see if he wishes to provide us with a statement."

Newcastle, who have vowed to defend their £4million signing over the Everton incident, were not commenting on today's development.

However, the player's agent, Ahmet Bulut, insisted his client is innocent.

He said: "This is not a true story."
