Toon & Football Myths/Clichés

Nowt pisses me off more than the following:

"Newcastle fans would rather win the FA Cup than the League" - Err, would we? I fucking wouldn't, would you?

"Fans will forgive a player having a mare if they are trying their best" - This also gets trotted out in defence of poor performances, poor players and poor teams. Give me quality over blood, sweat and tears every day of the week.

"Newcastle fans love their wide men/centre-forward's" - That's like saying we love to see our team pick up three points.

Add any FA Cup myth/cliché to the list as well.

What about you?

"These wonderful fans deserve a trophy."

"Titus Bramble has all the attributes to be a top, top defender."

...are two the C5 commentators struggle to get through a game without.

Newcastle fans don't mind letting five in as long as they score six.

Utter dogdirt.

You reminded me of this classic: "Newcastle fans would rather win 4-3 than 1-0"

Jim White when we signed Michael Owen "Freddie Shepherd continues to be the most popular chairman in football"

"They love their number 9's at Newcastle", normally trotted out by fucking Ant and Dec when they've been hauled in front of a camera to contribute to a Shearer wankfest program for Sky.
