FORGET ABOUT ALL THIS PISH 4FS AND CONCENTRATE ON MY ONE MAN CAMPAIGN TO EITHER GET THE CHRONICLE TO GIVE OLIVER'S JOB TO ME, OR SOME c*** ELSE!

  Stevie, I would pay a lot of money to see you get Oliver's job.  Imagine the Chronicle billboards around town.

"BIG MATCH PREVIEW:  NUFC V THEM SPURS C*NTS"

"WALLPUSHERS MATCH REPORT"

"TRANSFER LATEST: NUFC LINE UP SOME SPANISH C*NT"

At least Shepherd wouldn't have me in his pocket.

I had a run in with Paul New (sports ed) via email regarding Olly (AS WE SAY ON THE NORTH EAST BEAT), after the Newcastle V Man Utd FA Cup semi. You cant reason with these people because at local level, I will say it again Olly does a good job for the paper he gets the exclusives from the club & in return get a few £££'s via his club duties. If I want to know what the club is up to I read Bill Bradshaw (Daily Express) or Alan Oliver they are bezzie mates & Freds main men. If we get Big Sam then the man to read will be geordie boy Shaun Custis as he is a pal of Sams, the downside is it would meaning buying THE SUN. Regards my mini email battle the fookers were gutted when I suggested Shaun, Neil Custis, James Richardson,Carl Liddle all being local lads & big hitters in the media world could come in & do a better job than old buckled face. Carl would be my choice because he doesn't fall out with the players & it used to hack Olly off when they walked past him & spoke to Carl when he was working for the Shields Gazzette.

Two other things the piss me off about the Chron:

Alan Shearer testimonial cash - The fookers think the Lion has dug deep & is splashing the cash out, he is deciding where OUR dosh is going

& when they type: "Freddy Shepherd has backed every manager" -  He is not liable for any of the club debt, the cash he has borrowed is not against Fred Shep, player values, the ground, the training ground, pipe dreams i.e Casino's or conference facilities, the banks have loaned them against future season tickets because they know the fans are the only thing of value NUFC has.

Guest fraser

I can't believe you lot. AO's role is to be an uncritical, sycophantic mouhpiece of the establishment at NUFC; he's doing a great job.

"highly respected"?  :idiot2:

Newcastle's own goal

Newcastle, a club in turmoil on and off the pitch, have surpassed themselves by banning journalist Alan Oliver from St James’ Park just days after he received a lifetime achievement award for the dignified way he devoted a career to covering the team for the Newcastle Evening Chronicle for more than 30 years.

The highly respected Oliver, now a pensioner working for a Sunday newspaper, was the co-author of a story speculating on sidelined manager Joe Kinnear’s health — a fair subject on Tyneside — which upset the board.

Their ridiculous over-the-top reaction against a newspaperman who has written more positive paragraphs about the football club than anyone says everything about the buffoons running Newcastle.

Embarassing tbh.

Of course he's a s*** stirring prick, but to ban him from the ground because he wrote an article? It makes the club look like pathetic kneejerkers.

It's becoming like "THIS IS MIKE ASHLEY'S EMPIRE. YOU CRITICISE HIM IN ANY WAY AND HE WILL BAN YOU FOREVER MUHAHA!"

The press need to know that they can't write whatever they want with impunity. I won't lose any sleep over Alan Oliver, the man's a complete c word.

You really think this will discourage them? We're just giving them ammunition to write even more crap about us to further unsettle things up here.

None of them will fear being banned from the ground. It'll just result in them making up more s***.

One of the few good things the regime has done, Oliver wrote nothing but utter shit. Where the Mail got the idea that he was 'highly respected' I'll never know.

No its not. They should have either ignored it or rubbished the story in a rival paper to discredit Oliver as much as possible.

Banning him will only inflame the negative stuff they write about us

Steve Gibson banned someone for slagging of Boro, press said nowt.  Spurs banned someone from a local paper, hardly anything said.  Newcastle do it and people will make a big deal about it.

It's not about what you do but who are are, unfortunately.

Depends if it's true or not, for me.

Me too.

Sorry for sounding snappy... but I hear too many people on here with the attitude that if the club, or whatever else, has the power to punish, then you should just roll over. A bit like those arsehole bouncers they had working the games.

My view was more about the fact that I depise the majority of football 'journalists' who are basically parasites feeding off other people's success and/or failure to make careers for themselves. And most of them write a great deal of made up shite - Oliver being a prime example.

Not the most balanced view I admit!

Ordinarily I'd agree myself, but this time I understand there was actually something to what they wrote - that he'd had a chest infection, which could be pretty serious in the circumstances.
