Ishmael
What rubbish. Can you say with certainty that SAF did not pass any tactical instructions over to his players after Nani's red card?
Guest ObiChrisKenobi
Without being there no. From what you saw on the TV and still pictures afterwards it doesn't look that way.
Ishmael
Totally conclusive then.
Dokko
Surprised more isn't being made to bench Rooney. RvP was shite as well. Lucky for Fergie the red card is the talking point today.
Guest ObiChrisKenobi
Totally conclusive then. Never said it was. Was my take on it on the situation. Someone said there was 'nothing he could do', I believe otherwise and presented my reasons why (even if I have said it was perhaps being overly critical). What's your contribution? Surprised more isn't being made to bench Rooney. RvP was shite as well. Lucky for Fergie the red card is the talking point today. Odd really, as you'd think he'd be able to do the exact same job Welbeck was asked to do. Most papers jumping on the 'Rooney Leaving' idea.
Hanshithispantz
Totally conclusive then. But your claim that it is "total rubbish" is?
Ishmael
My contribution was to point out just how weak-ass your view/take on the situation is. The discussion without knowing what SAF did is almost completely pointless.

Guest ObiChrisKenobi
Nah, Hans, he's right. I should go back and time stamp every time I believe SAF exerts some sort of influence over his players after the incident. Or in my case, fails to use his influence. Totally conclusive then. But your claim that it is "total rubbish" is? Well, he has next to no evidence to support his inferences. It's not a fucking court of law man So what? I'm expected to sit on my hands if I think someone is peddling a weak argument? I thought this was a discussion forum? Apparently not. It's a Harvard Referencing required debate. Ishmael
You don't need to take it that far. You just cannot go saying "because I didn't see something I am going to assume it didn't happen" when in all likelihood it did. Most likely scenario is that a football manger will pass over tactical instruction after his team has lost a man to a red card. Especially one as experienced as SAF. Guest ObiChrisKenobi
OK... when DID he do it? Works both ways. What you do see is him concentrate on the officials and crowd for 5 minutes after the incident, while Mourinho is prepping a sub (even provided a still picture!). Ishmael
I don't know. Unless you were watching and listening to SAF you cannot say, can you? I'm pointing out that the likelihood of a manager with 25+ years experience at the top not having any tactical input into his side after having lost a man to a red card is extremely unlikely. You're not trying to discuss the matter though, you're trying to put a halt to it because YOU think it's baseless Personally I think it's a decent talking point, you could clearly see Fergie raging whilst Mourinho was straight to task making a substitution, do people think he was in the right frame of mind at the time to effectively react accordingly, or was he too wound up? Personally I find it pretty difficult to think straight when I'm that pissed off.

We saw a 10 second clip almost immediately after the incident and there would have been something like 30 minutes / 2000 seconds left in the game. Not only did we only see only 10 second clip, or a few clips, we saw the clips that the media considered most entertaining.

Dr Venkman
Like I said, perhaps I'm being overly critical, but I just always see the 'GET THE CROWD PUMPED' as the last roll of the dice, as if you're out of ideas tactically. All about perceptions, I suppose, but I reckon if that exact same situation had happened (player wrongly sent off), but it was a league game Ferguson wouldn't have acted that way. You're the manager. You set the tone. The manager? Accountable for what his team does on the pitch? Don't be silly.

I'm curious what Manure tactical reshuffle you saw and what effect did you see it make on the game. I was also 'only watching it' and thought the first thing he should have done would be to take RVP off who wasn't having a day to remember, bring Rooney on immediatley for his running, energy and enthusiam (and of course skill) and push Welbeck further foward to see if he could pick up long diagonal balls. Real still had to score and maybe they'd leave spaces. It didn't happen though, in fact i didn't see much different about Manure, certainly didn't become more compact which i thought was odd. But still, what changes did you see? Genuinely curious. Because at the moment i'm wondering if you watched the game tbh.
