Athletico are building a canny team

Forlan, Aguero, Riqueleme, Luis Garcia, Quaresma......

They could make a push for the champions league next yeatr if they dont fuck it up like usual.

over rated, needs you to build a team round him, and if he doesnt perform, the teams going to play shit, e.g. argentina vs germany. Hes a glitzy player who stands out in a rather mediocre team. wouldnt cut it over here, just another veron, needs time and every player to play to his style, never going to happen with us, ba  waste of money

Wouldn't exactly call the Argentina World Cup squad mediocre. I see your point about him needing too much space and time for the Premiership though.. Canny player for La Liga however..

Atletico are looking very dangerous indeed.

Almost as impressive as Bayern Munchen's signings.

Fantastic player but I can't think of a player more un-suited for the PL.

He is no longer fantastic.

Just been voted the best player in the Copa Libertadores and is back being Argentina's main player. He's as good as ever.

Heh? He took Villareal to the CL semis just over a year ago, was a joy to watch at the WC, got some trouble with his manager, was loaned out to his old club in South America and promptly won them the Copa Libertadores, scoring 3 goals over two matches in the final.. Hardly a player on the decline, and seeing as he's only just turned 29 he's hardly over the hill agewise as well.. What makes you think he's past his best???

Hes looked immense every week in the highlight shows for Argentinian football.

Hes deceptively strong, a great free kick taker, and will always have that killer pass in him (isnt this what were crying out for?). Certainly worth a gamble for a Premiership team that will play a 3 man central midfield. Which we may be doing.

Id be all for him because we badly need that creativity and we also have a manager who has made his career from what would be this type of signing. More so if we signed a good friend of his to help him settle, namely Sorin, who coincidentally Big Sam also wanted last summer.

Will be a top signing for Athletico.

The team Riquelme is in becomes Riquelme dependant, everything is about him, if he failed in the Premiership, he'd fail big style because he'd look sh*t
