Ah, that well-renowned site.

it had to be done. chances of this happening are slim to none for me, but that would mean and end to babayaro's newcastle career

I love how the papers and rumour sites work.

If we'd signed Baines/Shorey, there would be none of this, but because a) the Enrique deal was not made a huge deal of and b) no-one had really heard of him anyway, we still tick the "Do they need a left back? Yeah probably, stick their name down, let's go down the pub" box that all football rumour mills operate on, hence we're still "linked" with Shorey and whoever else the rumour sites pick out of World Football magazine.

again today the catalan press say that Belleti will be a Newcastle player this week

http://www.sport.es/default.asp?idpublicacio_PK=44&idioma=CAS&idnoticia_PK=434095&idseccio_PK=803&h=

I've tried a translation off the top of my head:

The English club are about to complete the siging of Brazailian player Juliano Belletti. Last week the player met with his brother and representative to listen to offers and it seems that he didn't leave disappointed. Bar a complete twist of events, within 48 hours Newcastle will announce the signing of the "hero of Paris" and Belletti, who will be very sad to do so, will abandon Barcelona.

Sam Allardyce is in talks with Barcelona over a £3million bid to sign Brazil full back Juliano Belletti...

Would be perfect for our system, very attacking.

Attacking won't be perfect for our system unfortunately. As long as he can hoof the ball from our 18 yard box to the oppositions 18 yard box he'll be perfect for Allardyce.

Maybe he's not thinking about using him as a right back? hmmmmmm

He's actually a good player and has a great engine, bombs up and down the flanks all day long and is quite happy dishing out the rough stuff. Would be well chuffed if we got him, a huge step up from Stevie C!!

agree lets not put him in his favoured position where he could effectively sideline our weakest link.. lets put him in midfield instead.. ingenius
