I think you under estimate how competitive the market is and what advantage that gives to the cartel clubs.

I really don’t know if Eddie meant we need to move quick as soon as the window opens or we need to be ready to go when the opportunity presents itself and clubs/players are ready to do business with us.

I am not going to lie I thought we'd be out the traps straight away this Summer - we have seen how quickly the likes of Liverpool have attacked the market and I was expecting that. We need depth, especially if Longstaff goes (which it looks like he will). I do agree he seems to be very Willock-esque though, so it'll be interesting to see hat we do there if he comes in.

I do think he'll start to look elsewhere if we don't invest in the club this Summer. He'll want to be in a team which is challenging for things so the next few weeks are vital in us keeping our best players.

We need more than that if we want a squad to compete in the league, Europe and for domestic cups.

If we do it'll be some PSR signing - sick of PSR - it is just disgusting to see the cartel able to spend what they want whilst the rest of the league try to constantly balance the books. Surely it breaks some competition law bringing in rules which prevents other 'businesses - as clubs are a business' - from spending. I do not understand how this has not been challenged in court. What's happened with the APT rules as well? Last I remember they were illegal - so why aren't the club making hay now? Just get some ridiculous training ground sponsor.

He won’t be signing a new contract until the window has closed, at the very earliest. If he signs a new contract it will have a release clause much much lower than we’d want for him. Think it might be a while before he signs a new one, if he does. Don’t see us agreeing to a too low clause.

Would be insanity to sell him. Having said that, If we are to have any chance of keeping him beyond this coming season we have to invest heavily. Get quality and numbers in and strengthen the team and squad properly. Fail to do that and he won’t be here for long. Couldn’t blame him either if so. No matter when/how late we get the players in this window, there can be no fucking about and time wasting that results in us not getting enough through the door.

Selling isak is utter madness. It sends the wrong message to current players and also any we are trying to bring in. Yes, it gives us a short term boost to PSR but will almost certainly leave us weaker at CF, the key position on the pitch. Qualifying for CL for the next 3 seasons means we can name our price for sponsorship deals etc… and probably triple 🤷🏻‍♂️ our commercial income in that time.
