Anthony Elanga: NUFC have bid of £45m rejected (Ornstein)
The College Dropout replied to SUPERTOON's topic in Football
We've not done it or look like we will. We've not even loaned a PIF-owned player. -
What effort does selling a women's team take? Or an academy player swap? Very little imo, any selling of assets to oneself is extremely easy. That being said, back to the topic at hand. I'm really curious where we go from here, I do expect another offer to be made, it's a shame we can interest forest in say Willock to bring out outlay down and use some resources in central midfield.

They've rarely been crazily wrong. I refused to believe the early reports last season. The Chelsea hacks require a lot of effort mind. Like our Owners could sell SJP to themselves 30% at a time. Doesn't sound like that's a plan to do anything like that. -
I meant that summers transfer window, not the season itself which I agree was terrible. For me personally after the terrible seasons of 2012/13, 2013/14 and 2014/15, where Ben Arfa was let go, where Kinnear had been and gone, where there had been chaos with Carver and just general negative feeling, that summer I felt ooh maybe the near miss of relegation the previous season has changed the ethos of Ashley (more fool me) and finally he actually is trying to bolt the horse onto the cart or whatever his stupid saying was

I'd take Luiz - that's an easy sale to Saudi next June if needed imo. Sound that out.

I'm citing the accountant the athletic hired just to cover this subject That being said, Chelsea have pretty much killed PSR so many loopholes means nobody should be taking deductions anytime soon.

Reports in the media tend to have some element of truth in them. Such as our longstanding interest in this lad. Very rarely is the smoke without any fire. -
Drinking Cruzcampo, listening to Dualipa under a super moon.

Eh. Team was consistently shit - hard to get excited by any of them. Only Gini & Mitro showed signs of any ability. Thauvin was a disgrace in our shirt. -
Yeah ditto, could even allow us to sell Joekinton for a massive Saudi pay day

TBF the reports last season were correct. Each of the 6 clubs named did dodgy deals to become compliant. This year, only 1 club is reportedly close to failing again and they are likely to use the Chelsea hack on the women's team. -
Agreed but it was still very exciting at the time, after carver and pardew had finally left, spending the most in Europe that season, it felt like it was a brand new start with Graham Carr and his previous success being rewarded with more influence plus a new set of highly rated coaches. That season we also got Shelvey and Townsend, the team that got relegated was probably better than the 2008/09 team player for player. Just had a crappy manager that killed it all

Wonder if we are snooping around an Atalanta player but it’s not Scalvini….

If they are ok for this years accounting (which reports suggest they are) they don't need to sell before June 2026. Unless you have issues for June 2025 - if you need PSR headroom, you can wait til next June to sell valuable players for you and get a full season out of them. -
Yes but you said "reported". Im aware of reports but I dont hold any great confidence in people who try to make guesses with finances. Im not saying Forest are in PSR trouble. It was a theory.

None of these are distressed sales. If they need to sell, they'll find a better way than flogging Elanga on the cheap imo. -

Until recently there was a lot of talk of MGW going to City, that it was almost a done deal. Now that City have seemingly looked elsewhere, could it be that Forest need to make a sale of some kind in order to bring in the players they’ll need for Europe etc? -
No, I perfectly understood what you were saying. The point I was making is this hasn't been reported anywhere (only ones under pressure are Villa) They also breached ffp previously with the Johnson deal. They'd rather hold our than sell cheaply if history is anything to go by.

Nah that was the year prior. Last season - they learnt their lesson and sold some French lads in some dodgy situations - and got a great deal on Anderson and flogged dead wood. -
I think you've misunderstood. Perhaps they do need to shift players in order to make money (in theory) and whilst Elanga isnt someone they want to sell, we are aware of their predicament. Like I say, if they sell before the end of the month that will give us an idea.
-
Your referring to the Brennan Johnson sale? Does make me wonder why would they take less than what they got off spurs. I do think we are in a bit of bind and I also believe the reports saying Mbeumo was our primary target for that position.

Forest don't sell players that want to keep even if they do have PSR issues. -
Didn’t realise there’s only until Monday for some book balancing. Let’s see who shits themself and blinks first.
