Name a better NUFC youth product since 1994. Shola. Edit - as the previous people said, he's hardly a youth product. This argument If all other products of the academy / development are utter s****, the even if N'Zogbia is one of the better ones, this benchmark is so low that it therefore DOES NOT mean he would save us from relegation. In fact i'm finding it impossible to fathom the logic of an argument that involves N'Zogbia and fighting for relegation. Thats probably because such arguments are not based on logic but agendas tbh. Whether he goes on to be a better player at Wigan is irrelevant, he wasnt going to go an be a better player here so cashing in was the best option. Agree with all that.

It was worse. I remember Keegan taking Newcastle to Roker Park and they huffed and puffed for 90 mins but we picked them off and won 2-1 because we had class players like Ginola and Beardsley and they had a team of Kevin Nolans. This time they had Cisse and Jones, we had carroll and Shola. Wrong decade man. I know but that was what was going through my mind watching on Sunday. You were comparing us challenging for the top of the table compared to now. That's just plain daft, we've not been in the position for years. If your hopes are that high you need to drag them back down to the earth quick smart as this won't change over night. What we had then and what I expect now are totally different things. I am quite happy to see us spend wisely and follow the Wenger blueprint. I don't see any evidence of it though. We have a temporary manager who has over-stayed his welcome and looks to be recruiting footballers a million miles from Wenger's preferred types. The Tony Pulis blueprint would be a better description. What looks to be to be happening is the board ballsed up at the start of the season. We were then left with no manager wanting to take the job. JK was given the job. He took over and the club was already up s*** creek. It was decided due to the debts the manager would be given £10m cash to spend, this was spent not buy the right people though that was the mistake. We got to January we had another £10m to spend but needed to cut the wage bill because it was to high hence losing all the money. Seems to be a massive clear up will happen this summer with loads of players going and coming in basically to sort the wage bill out. Once that is done the club will be self sufficient and money can be spent to improve the squad keeping the wage bill around the 50% mark. Forget the whole wenger blueprint, that all starts at the youth end of things. Why do you think anyone was ever given any cash to spend? We've run a surplus I'm stupid and believe JK when he said he was told he had £10m to spend. And I seem to remember something in the summer when people still liked Ashley and he did an interview he said he would put £20m into the club to cover the over expense and would put £10m in to transfers the rest would come from the club (which I now realise he meant selling players).

What exactly did he do wrong when he had the ball at his feet ? The movement in front of him was non existent.

True but if you like your seat

To be honest they would probably leave season ticket prices the same saying we get more games and they have not put prices up with inflation (?) and they hope to get the club promoted straight away so need the funds. To be honest I am 99.9% sure we won't go down so I'm not even thinking about it but if we did that's what I think would happen. There is very little chance the prices would go down.

The first paragraph seems to show there shear ignorance to the cash flow problem currently within the club suggesting the money is all going to Ashley. When will people learn. Never mind.

Only willing to watch during the good times eh ? Shame that. I'll happily watch Newcastle in any league. Feel it gives me more of a right to bitch and moan about performances, players and the club when I've bothered to pay for it. I paid for the 3 years in one go and I'm more than happy that I did it.

Though he played great, yeah he wasn't involved much in making runs with the ball (which is all some people on here seem to notice) but he was always in good open positions calling out for the ball. He was bossing not only the midfield but also the defence and the strikers. At one point he was telling Shola exactly where to stand and when he didn't move he gave him such a bollocking. Should definatly take over the captains arm band in my eyes and will be a great player to take over the role of holding up the ball and spreading the play about a bit.

If Ashley comes out of the window saying "hey, I haven't got you any new signings, but at least I've sacked Wise!" I'm going to grab a shotgun and get on the next flight to London. I'd heard this rumour a couple of days ago actually and think it was in one of the sunday papers saying we were getting rid. I'm guessing we'd announce it though if he was going.

Not entirely, he's just at the start of his career and Given's at the end of his. The injuries are a bit worrying though. Givens still got a good few years left, but yes Johnson has longer. Money is supposedly tight, and we're still £2m out of pocket should this happen, if you like. The £2m which would technically be covered by the sale of N'Zogbia meaning we'd still have the £10m JK was promised at the start of the transfer window.

Charles N'Zogbia joins Wigan Athletic for fee believed to be £6.5m

I'd agree, a couple of times yesterday he was trying to beat 2 men when he'd have been better off just dropping off and whipping it in. In my opinion. But that's because he had to double back to put the ball in with his right foot. -

Jonas couldn't cross yesterday cause he was on the left wing he kept having to double back. He needs to be on the right wing. He's a much better dribbler on the left, he becomes ineffective on the right. Thought he linked up well with Enrique on the left too. I'd like to see them get a string of games together, could be a great left side that. He did link up well with Enrique which is probably good for his confidence as all Duff did was bollock him all the time. I still think he would link up with Beye just as well if not better. -
