  1. TT no one on here is saying we shouldn't spend money! However, giving an abomination of a manager that was Souness more money to spend than Bobby Robson was an act so thick and stupid that it deserved lynching the c*** (Shepherd) I know that but this was down to clearing up the mess of past managers. We always do it. We have seasons of big spend and then next to nothing. Our problem with FFS was not down to the money he gave managers it was down to sacking managers so quickly which could also relate to hiring the wrong managers. Dalglish had the same problem. He had to do all the tidying of the club left over from KK as the club needed to reduce wages and get rid of squad members before cash could be made available again. heretic.......that never ever happened under hall/shepherd. NE5 will have you for that. Yeah but the difference was it was a clear out of players whilst allowing the manager full reign in signing new players just the cost was limited for one season. We seemed to do it a fair bit. After KK, after Souness, even after Bobby to some extent.
  2. nowt basic about it, its an absolute necessity. It IS a necessity, but so are other factors which you are refusing to admit FS did not display, or possess, which is why he made a complete f***ing mess of it. like appointing Bobby Robson and speculating, rather than take soopa mikes prudency route ? Bobby Robson was not Shepherd's genius idea I may be wrong but wasn't he the one that wanted Bobby Robson to come, others weren't so sure due to his age ? Yeah, very shrewd move it was. So Freddy Shepherd milked us in dividends every year for choosing to appoint Sir Bobby Robson? My deaf cat would have made that appointment with its eyes closed! I don't agree with the dividends but at the end of the day it's no different from any other business.

  5. I think the point NE5 is trying to make was the club was on a sound foot. Yes we had a massive amount of debt but it was backed by the number of fans we got in the stadium, was a short term loan and was easily paid off each season including interest. We then used our finance brought into the club each season to buy new players. Often we went a season without spending big and got rid of dead wood, this helped lower the wage bill each season but overall meant we were able to compete each season really and try and get into a European spot whilst also getting in big players. The one point we were missing was a good manager to take over that role. If we got that manager in we may have pushed on further like we did under KK and Bobby Robson. We in turn would have made more money and we would have had no problems.
  6. To do well you need firstly a good manager and secondly money to spend. At the minute we have neither. This was the reason it didn't work in the past. When it did work we had good managers when it didn't we had the likes of Souness.
  7. I HOPE YOU'RE HAPPY FAT MIKE  Probably very happy that he's sold 52K seats despite the football we are playing and our position in the league.
  8. Actually reading that again it seems to make sense. We owed £71m as a long term loan on the stadium and the club made a loss of 34m add the two together and you have a debt of £105m. We then have the £20m loss the club made from last season, plus the change in player values I assume gives you the extra debt.
  9. Well we know so much of the extra debt is down to player values changing. i've not idea what it means about the rest though but then I'm not accounted like some of them on here.
  10. http://www.newcastle-online.org/nufcpredictionleague Don't forget your predictions for the match tomorrow night. Also 10 bonus points up for grabs for the match against the mackems.
  11. To get away from Rafa and play a few games. Which he could go to many other clubs to do just that and probably clubs who will be in Europe next season unlike ourselves. Isn't his goal record not that great either which at the minute is the type of striker we need because we have a midfield who can't score for the £60k wages a week they are getting let alone anything else.
  12. Really ? If I'm honest I've not seen any of them really play at all this season to make any sort of judgment other than to say Shay is worth alot more than £7m.
  13. Cause i don't fancy paying money to join an organisation who's current record is awful
  14. Where did you find the information about the finances just I've not seen them mentioned on any other site ?
  15. And please remember that "article" is from the Mirror blogs which I don't believe will even appear in the paper.
  16. Can't see anything about the added payment being true to be honest. If they bought a player to play in the league they would expect to hit that and would have financed for it. Typically Mirror bollocks backed up by a bollocks "Supporters Club" member once again spouting off shite as though it's the feeling of all the fans. Frankly I'm as sick of that lot as I am of the way this piss poor club is been run at the minute.
  17. Im looking ahead to next season... So am I, I'm not going to stop going, why would I ?
  18. And quayside were you the guy who ran http://www.nufc-finances.org.uk/ and if so will you update for this ?
  19. Yeah you appear to have missed off actually going to the game ??
  20. Just trying to understand that. Does that mean the club will still be operating at a loss of £21 a season currently. And if so how the hell has that happened ? Even with the debt weren't we running at close to breaking even each season under FFS and that was after spending big cash on players ?

    Peter Beardsley

I've heard Blanka is shocking though
  22. This is one of the many quotes from JK that he has obviously been told from Ashley that I just can't get my head around. How exactly can the club be haemorrhaging money ? They made such a big deal about the club getting rid of the debts, we then got rid of so many players in the summer which must have saved us a fortune. The club bluntly is shite. It's being run shite from top to bottom, has shite all clue when it comes to finances and has shite ideas for pushing this club into the future, a future still in the Premiership. I did warn when Ashley took over, he would lead us to trouble, I just hoped I'd be proved wrong.
