  1. Seriously still going with the Xmas avatar
  2. That doesn't make sense. I assume it should read a fee not been agreed.
  3. Based on what? As far as I can see he's been one of our most loyal players. He's been too good for Newcastle for quite a while now, I don't want him to leave but I won't slag him off for wanting to. Whether Man City should be his destination is questionable though. He did put a transfer request in once before after being left out for one game I had forgotten about that TBH, but out of 11 years I think we can put that down to a blip rather than the fact he's always wanted to be away. Every summer as well when Arsenal was linked. Said I like it here but I want to challange for honours so we need to improve the squad or I may have to leave. Didn't get his Arsenal move in the end though did he.

  5. why ? Hardly professional, this sort of thing shouldn't even come out in the press. A top managers comment would have been I'll speak with the player tomorrow in training. Alex Ferguson would have said that then you never would have seen the player again. I know things are bad at the minute and the club is silent so any comment seems good but the fact is this has been one of our problems in the past, doing everything through the press. Should be kept out of the press totally. I don't agree, He had been accussed of insulting a player, and however ridiculous, I think it was absolutely right for JK to come out and qiuckly dismiss the Zogs faux outrage it as the nonsense that it was. souness-eque...compound the original perceived insult by making a new one in response to a question about the original one!! Thats basically what my worry is with JK I normally cannot stand his constant jabbering, but when a player say's he is so insulted that he will never play again over something so innocuous, there needs to be a quick response. But that response doesn't have to be to the press.
  6. Why the hell is Sam commenting ? Where is he commenting ? he was manager at Bolton and us? sort of makes sense that he would comment. I know just seemed strange that at this time of year when he is Blackburn manager someone would ring him up and ask him what he thought about Nolan signing for Newcastle rather than talking to him about the lack of signings at Blackburn

  10. Thats been my biggest concern. I'm glad we're getting in a midfielder and one who already plys his trade in the Premiership and won't demand stupid wages. I'm glad we're going for a right back so Taylor doesn't have to play, and we seem to be trying to get another midfielder which will help. But without a left back I'm worried. Unless of course JK has plans to shift our defence about a bit when he has choice and player Taylor in the center of defence and move Bassong back out to left back.
  11. To be fair althought N'Zogbia should have been fined and kicked out the club ASAP, Joe shouldn't have commented in the press.
  12. It's the Metro newspaper since when did that become the fountain of all Newcastle knowledge ?
  13. some may mention paul kitson or carl cort or viana as other managers mistakes. No one will mention Kitson. £2.25m, sold for £2.3m But absolute s**** all the same. Wasn't that bad really, was ok at Everton as well. Remember we had Pearce to fill in at left back as well while he was there so least we had a decent player and cover.
  14. I remember watching Shearer get badly injured and Kenny was interviewed about Ferdinand after the game and he claimed to know nothing about Ferdinand going to Spurs, I'm not sure if he was lying. Ferdinand said himself Kenny tried his best to get him to stop but he didn't think he could cause the deal was that far down the line.
  15. I never felt that he'd work out for us although I didn't for one minute expect the drop from 2nd to 13th. That was when I first started blaming the board as it was the change to the stock market and being forced to sell players than meant we had that drop. It's happening all over again now, my fear this time however is we won't spend big again and we'll be stuck with a dead end manager.
  16. Christ I'd forgotten about Stuart Pearce, what I'd give to find someone in his mould to show Enrique how to play at the minute.
  17. I know the garbage were mainly the cheap ones and some of his more expensive signings were without doubt the best but he paid good money for Andersson and Guivarc'h. Like I said, he's only real duff signings. That's why I'm saying if he was given time I think he knew exactly what he was doing and would have got more signings in, in the mould of Given, Nobby, Shay, even bloody Hamann and we would have progressed. Wow this thread has turned round lol
  18. The players who came in were his choice though, some were utter garbage. To be honest the garbage ones cost next to noubt. Dalglish is the one manager I think if we had given time to would have made the club something special, but I'm on my own thinking that. t I'm not so sure. He already took on a special team! they finished 2nd two years in a row. It didn't need big changes. Selling Ferdinand, Ginola, Batty etc. was scandelous. He did bring in Solano, Speed, Given, so kudos there. Yeah but that was something he was told he had to do, sell those players. He openly admitted he didn't want rid of them and when we had no strikers he tried his best to keep the players. At the same time he did manage to get £6m for Ferdinand which at that age was good money. I've just looked at his purchases there on nufc.com he's only two duff signings were Andreas Andersson and Stephane Guivarc'h and they costs the total cost of £6.5m

  20. To be fair Kenny Dalglish was well backed as he had a net spend of almost £16 million in his short time here. Yeah but on lots of players on low wages. Gary Speed I believe was out most expensive purchase he brought.
