we can't compete on these transfer fees and salaries without finding a zillionaire who thinks spending (or wasting) ++£100mm a year on a vanity football team is a good idea get real - until the game comes to its senses mid table is as good as it can get with our cash flow
-
Me? I'd put £ 35 mm in teh bank and buy 20 youngsters for washers and hope one of them turns into A Caroll after 90 games............................

Is Mike Ashley the worst person ever to have been associated with NUFC?
Rob W replied to AlanSkÃrare's topic in Football
and until 50,000 of us are willing to pay him £ 3,000 EACH he will continue to run the club and then would WE be happy shelling out more every season.......................... get real - you either find a sugar daddy or you play canny and settle for mid table -
No Olypic Stadium has ever been a post Game success without massive reconstruction no-one will stand up and say "we're spending zillions on a stadium for 3 weeks of entertainment" so the taxpayer gets hammered SPurs are the only logical choice Interesting there is no sign of a bid from Lord Coe and Teresa Jowell

Europe: would you take, er, 5th place right now?
Rob W replied to kirkwdavis2001's topic in Football
"I think that if we qualified for Europe Ashley would be forced to open his wallet." :mackems: FORCED? He's the bloody owner man - who will force him to do owt? -
I said this a few months ago, the difference in prize money is like £7 million. Not a lot these days. 7m buys a pretty decent to good striker it doesn't - half the PL has £ 7mm strikers and are desperate to get someone else

na - it IS possible but I doubt it's a good idea with our porky friend running the club - aal the cash would go into this pocket and we'd be stretched sommat awful -

Europe would be a massive distraction to this squad - maybe in 2012 -
Lad behind me kept saying "that'll do, that'll do" every 3 seconds when we hoofed the ball out only for it to go to one of their players. Well no, it won't f***ing do will it because we're constantly giving the ball away. Pissed me right off. aye - you'd think SOMEONE would remember Shearer's fantastic ability to take the ball into the corner and waste hours wouldn't you??

well one might be in Div 2 next year....................

The 1898 OS 5" map of Byker & Hebburn shows the "Football Ground" just east of Chillingham Road between the Cricket Ground to the north and the Railway yards to the south on the NE corner of Hartford St and Spencer St (which parallels Chillingham Rd.) opposite Seventh St. This is now a disused part of the rail yard at 54°59'2.56"N 1°34'26.62"W on Google Earth - Street view has some shots over the fence it looks like the Smoggies Stadium TBH
-
we can't afford him - unless we're using him to fence Carol

FA reject unfair dismissal appeal from NUFC for Cheik Tiote
Rob W replied to Crumpy Gunt's topic in Football
It has been clear for years jump in with both feet and you are at serious risk of a red card end of story Personally I'm in favour - if you remember what it used to be like with the likes of Wimbledon, Leeds etc etc -
the important thing is to win
-
can't afford to fire him

For most of the history of the PL there has been a bunch of no-hopers (eg the Mackems) who have been in the departure lounge from week 3 this season is one of the most even we've seen - it's quite possible that once again a team on over 40 points will drop
-
That's it keep talking like that. *Black crows settle on nearby rooftops. RACIST!!!
-
We have (statistically) played more of our toughest games than just about anyone else (interestingly Villa are in the same position) - we just don't need to panic and start doing stupid things
-
about right - tho Ameobi is a nicer bloke
-
Sell while we're ahead - and throw in lovenkrans as well - another Championship player
-
bit tight this season - the AVERAGE needed to avoid the drop in the 38 game PL has been 36 but the range for the relegated team in 18th place is 30-42 I reckon we need at least 42 to be safe
-
aye - panic sets in and God knows what will happen
-
time for him to go - he just isn't good enough for the PL
-
he's probably signing for Chelski as we speak.........
