I hate the bloke, but Cahill's had a great season for Chelsea.

Like Colback? Why get behind shit players?

Make it like tennis and cricket, limited challenges per team.

Newcastle United promoted back to the Premier League

Only if Huddersfield win. What if we win 46-0 and they lose 103-3? Is it confirmed then? -
Mitro got mentioned because of the point someone made about Rafa blaming him for the goal (based on the fact he benched him). It's natural to discuss that point in here, but not the "Is Murphy any better" question, granted.

Rafa is a patient man. But the nature of that equaliser against Leeds will have driven him f***ing spare. Maybe he decided to give it both barrels, though that's not his style. Usually he cuts players dead who won't learn or won't do a job. Maybe that's why Mitro was benched? How was Mitro to blame for the Leeds goal by the way? He comes steaming out at a hundred miles an hour to the bloke with the bandaged head, who beats him easily, and finds space for the pass. If Mitro doesn't dive in, holds him up or jockeys him there, that pass isn't on. He has to cut back inside and launch it in himself or go wide. He's a striker. The blame lies with the defence 100%. Defend from the front! Another skill Mitrovic is crap at! Hang on, so he's to blame for the goal even though he was the furthest forward, 3 players let the cross actually come in and 2 centre backs ignored the runner? There's an agenda right there. Do you disagree with the main point? Watching Mitro "close down" is a joke. Gayle does 3 times the amount of defending Mitro manages. Well, he is 3 times quicker than him. You've changed the main point. I asked why Mitro would be blamed by Rafa for the goal. He's like 6th in line for blame.

Newcastle United vs Preston North End - 24/04/2017 @ 19:45 - Live on Sky

Well manager, players and fans are all going to be nervous during this, so I fully expect at least 87 minutes of frustration and 3 minutes of anger (and 10 minutes of disbelief). -
Instead of captain fantastic? Yeah.
-
Wrong lineup, wrong tactics, shit captain.

To be fair, a lot of people on here seem to share their opinions, which is somewhat strange. In what way Dave? Lots of people think we should have pissed the league and have dismissed the need to freshen up the squad in January. Just like those three. Haven't seen lots of people saying we didn't need to strengthen at all tbh. You're on here more than me though so I've probably missed the posts. You haven't seen people consistently bemoaning the likes of Gouffran, Colback and Diame playing despite them not being good enough to suit the system? Or being critical of us being unable to defend without Clarke, attack without Ritchie or score without Gayle? We needed new faces. Didn't get them. It's a factor. But people didn't share Ashley's view about not needing to strengthen. That's different.

Playoff loss at Wembley I think. -

Shit today, shit all season. Bin him off.

That is the situation. We've assembled a squad to work hard and get us promoted. Nothing else. And then what? Buy another 11 players for next season? Not gonna happen is it. Urgh okay. You think we are? Can you think of a club in the history of the premiership who have successfully overhauled their squad one season to the next? These players aren't gonna just start being better just because they'd be playing a league higher, so if they've been assembled just to get us promoted, what's next seasons plan? Give me an honest answer rather than your usual condescending shite please. I've argued it half a dozen times already this season, hence my non-engagement then. I don't think we need an overhaul. We need about four significant signings down the spine of the team, and we'll stay up. Am I that condescending? Feel like I tend to get involved in an actual debate the majority of the time. Granted I was an arse then and apologies for that. No problem, must admit I've not seen your other posts about it. So the squad was assembled to get promotion ugly, but only needs 4 players changing? Can't say I agree with that, especially when I believe we need 3 new defenders, 3 new midfielders and at least 1 striker to even stay up.
