Would you take getting relegated and coming right back up right now?
Shearergol replied to oldtype's topic in Football
Yeah, that won't necessarily happen. Charlton Norwich Southampton Watford Derby Are these not teams who have recently been in the PL? Are all these teams not fighting relegation from the CCC? It was kind of tongue in cheek. As I stated in another thread, only stable clubs win promotion. We're far from it. -
Wow, chomp indeed. I just find it funny that you give up on the club every single fucking season, despite being a "genuine fan". If you really support the club, you'd stick by them even in the conference.

Imagine the joy of seeing the team win every week though. -
Aye it did us the world of good against the mackems, Liverpool, Stoke and all those others games where we've either lost or failed to win. Supporting the team goes without saying and happens every single game home and away either in turnout or voice and often both. Another good suggestion... Oh, wait.

OK, I realise people are pissed off, but why has the finances thread been forgotten? The club is losing £20m a season. How exactly is Ashely pocketing cash? It's not.. Just a paper "loss".. OK, Ashley is putting £20m a year in to cover wages. Better?

Perhaps every fan could turn up at training with some boots and show JK that he doesn't need to carry on picking Nicky Butt?
-
So to answer the question, it's a no? HTT, isn't it your monthly time to walk out on the club anyway?
-
Yay for totally missing the point Unless we can use that money to bribe the Premier League into giving us some free points, I don't see how it helps us. Club's being run more responsibly dont you know I'm not so sure it is tbh. As I said elsewhere, he's taking a massive gamble here. If it comes off, will it give Shearer more to spend in summer?

Why are people obsessed with this? It's about the squad improving rather than the money spent. We've spent millions on utter shit over the years and we're paying for it now. I agree btw. I'm not really arsed about net spend so to speak, more so on the quality of player coming. No matter how much or how little they cost. And that's the bigger issue. Neither Wise or Kinnear have the quality to purchase first teamers.
-
We've spent nothing over the 4 windows because of all the shite that we bought over the last 12!
-
Perhaps we could all put £1000 in and run the club for 3 months?

Something about trying to sign someone called Rooney or something.
-
We've made about £8m (ish) I think. Club safe for another year then yeah?
-
We wanted Johnson as part of the Given deal, but Man City said that they could get more money for him by just selling him. I guess part of our master plan was to try it!
-
We kept Smith though 'Just like a new signing'... We both know we'll be treated to that line soon. This season has been so shit I'm kinda looking forward to seeing him back [/hides]
-
In his 154 first team games in his career? When do you get time to watch Newcastle?
-
We kept Smith though

I thought he said he was now fully committed to the club and looked to 'move the club forwards in 2009'. Didn't that supercede the 'no longer willing to subsidise NUFC' statement? Not sure, that's why I asked. I still fail to see how the club can carry on spending money when we're making a massive loss. That's something most people in the finances thread agreed on, but it seems they've forgotten about it here.
