In what way? Malbranque had too much time and space on the ball, but then he put in a brilliant cross and Bent's finish was outstanding. In the way that the full back should have closed the cross down. No fault of Faye's though - Bent's header was superb.

Butt, Geremi and Duff are all pretty much past it, Emre never plays, N'Zogbia looks to be on his way out, Barton might go to jail, and Milner is average. What does that leave us with?

There's one thing for sure, I'll give him much more time than I gave Souness, Roeder or Allardyce. Even if we'd gone down (even if we do) then he's the man to trust to sort things out. I think that even if some fans don't think he's the right man, they're a lot more willing to wait a lot longer to find out.

We need midfielders. Anyone who thinks different is wrong. End of. OK, we need a goalkeeper, defenders, midfielders and strikers, but midfield is the key area.
