  1. It was a dive after MINIMAL contact. We've had worse given against us. Fixed. You'd rather it wasn't given then?

  3. Enrique and Bassong have both had really good games. Shame there's nothing in front of them.
  4. What amazes me is when the commentators are surprised if Butt gives the ball away.
  5. How is that not a penalty? EDIT: Watched it again. Still think he caught him.
  6. He probably is, but he's got Butt and Ameobi to thank for a lot of it. He is the one picking them, or keeping them on when they are clearly not good enough. Every Newcastle manager, including Keegan, picked Nicky Butt.

  8. What a load of tosh. He moved to Man City because they're way more ambitious than us. End of. The manner of his exit, the timing etc. he's just another mercenary, they all are at the end of the day. From now on I'll not be putting any stock in any of our players, Shay is the last straw. The timing of his exit? Sorry, but er... he was off well before today's game. And what's with the manner? He released a statement through his lawyer and get on with his football, unlike that french twat. He had to hand in a transfer request because time was running out.(dealine of transfer window) Man City are going places, we are not. Do you dispute that? This. Nowdays you gotta have cash to be ambitious. City had a good squad before the Arabs as well and probably had ambition of challenging the top4 one day, and with oil money, they can now actually walk the walk. Sad to say it, but if you want to break into the top4 without waiting 5 years for youngsters to break through, you gotta splash it. Thanks for the reminder actually. I totally forgot that. Well...that too refutes Shearergol's "Man City weren't ambitious until someone gave them an open cheque book" comment. Deary me. I forgot their challenge for honours too. Deary me. Vassell and Dickov unfront were immense.
  9. He left because NUFC are unlikely to be trophy challangers any time soon. (He's getting on a bit just incase you haven't noticed.) He left for Man City because from next season they will be aiming to win something. I don't give too flying monkies how much he's getting at City. And BTW, engineering a move to Arsenal? None of the top 4 or 5 clubs came in for him because they are clearly happy with their goalkeepers. So that leaves Man City as the best next thing. (Not bad for a club aiming to be the best in the world. ) Because you're being an arse, as usual. I'm being an arse giving my opinion, and you feel the need to call me a little kid? Want me to explain irony?
  10. Dan Petrescu, Les Ferdinand
  11. What a load of tosh. He moved to Man City because they're way more ambitious than us. End of. They're ambitious because they have an unlimited supply of cash. Ashley doesn't. End of. Is that really your reason for Shay Given to stay? mackems.gif Erm, no. It's my response to your ambition claims. Man City weren't ambitious until someone gave them an open cheque book. So fucking what though? Thing have changed now. Get over it. You're laughable. You're like a little kid can't cope with the fact that your mate has got a larger lolly pop. Eh? Why the need to get personal? You're claiming that Given has left us and it has nothing to do with money. That's clearly not true, otherwise he would have waited for a club who is more likely to win things but less likely to give him £120k a week. If he's the best in the league, surely the top 4 would want him? Laughable indeed.
  12. Who? This thread is about Nolan. Did you rate Guthrie?
  13. I really, really, really hope your not serious. I hope he is. Could do with our owner being a strong position financially to make sure the £20m a year loss is covered. I'd rather he puts money into OUR club rather than casinos (in Manchester of all places). Does all of your money go into YOUR club, or do you spend some at different pubs? (out of interest?) I spend some at different pubs. I know what you mean, but its just funny how he cant invest money for players yet he can go gambling (even if the gap in money amounts is noticable). Think you answered your own point tbh

So basically, you agree. Nope, not at all. I think he's gone there for the wages from the unlimited supply of cash they have. If he had true ambition he's have engineered a move to Arsenal somehow, possibly by actually waiting until summer, like most players do.

It's taken you a while to notice. How many non-mercenaries are there in the whole of football? Shearer.
