He was last season, and would be this season if Sheff United realised he has to be in the box. Nice to see 3 former Scunny strikers in that last - can't really work out why Martin Paterson isn't in that list though (or Jack Cork, though strictly he's a Chelsea player). Thinking even further, Joe Murphy is regarded as one of the best keepers outside the Premiership yet still doesn't make the list. They've basically missed any player out who doesn't play for a fashionable club. Stupid list.

I'd pay ÂŁ5m for Lampard myself. Sod him playing for Newcastle; he can come live at my place
-
Why on earth would they fix the draw?
-
Whoosh? Aye, fly him in. Seriously? Couldn't see him making the step down tbh. It is a possibility, but I wouldn't say it was realistic. He loved Shearer and said he would love to walk out wearing the number 9 at St James IIRC. So he might, but I seriously doubt it. Quality striker though. Please don't bring up this debate again

1st/2nd April then 9th/10th

Man United were awesome against Roma in the 7-1. Can't see them repeating it this year, but still got to fancy them. I can only see an English winner tbh.
-
Yep, a big congratulations to all of the English teams, which contain about 2 English players. Yay!
-
still better than owen tbh the fucking little prick The last line in your post makes the first line pointless. Don't know why people have to get personal about players, as it detracts from their views of them as a player. However, there is no way that Viduka is better than Owen.

Love the way they draw the final. Can't they work it out by whoever wins the semi finals, or is it just to work out which dressing room each team uses?
-
They'll be playing Chelsea in the semi, again.

Honestly? He's very close to signing for Burnley from what I've heard. Certainly building up a youth/reserve team aren't we. Aye here is the link http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/nufc/newcastle-united-news/2008/03/13/united-swoop-for-young-gun-vokes-72703-20617218/ Surely that wouldn't be allowed? signs a contract but wont transfer till next season He can sign now because Burnley are in administration and need the money, similar to Ipswich when we signed Ambrose. Bournemouth you mean? Thought they'd found a buyer to bring them out of administration now? Their manager was on SSN quite a bit yesterday and he said something about not selling any players.

How Many more Humiliating defeats will keegan face before he walks again.

Maybe it coincides with newcastles worst season in the premiership. Sorry for speaking out against a club I have supported since 1970 But Im afraid our future in the top flight of football is ending this season. Be positive I think he's fairly positive we're going down. -
Joey Barton could be our Steven Gerrard too.

He signed some very good players for us. He should've we were the 2nd best team in the country, one of the richest in the world and in the Champion's League. and those players still took us from that position to mid-table. given time i'm sure he'd have done better but he did a poor job short-term. The football we played under Dalglish was atrocious. He did make some good signings in Given, Solano, Hamman (for that 1 season) but made some equally bad signings like the jobs for the boys (Rush, Barnes, his son etc), Des Hamilton, Andreas Andersson, Lionel Perez...... falling out with Ginola, selling Ferdinand and replacing them sub standard players. Everyone goes on about him taking us to 2nd place in the CL, but that was with Keegans team. The season after was his team......the one where we performed so miserably, playing largely boring negative football and finishing 13th. Hardly his fault Ferdinand was sold though. i'm no apologist for dalglish but to underestimate the effect losing shearer had is to do him a massive disservice - was the best striker in europe at the time and would have affected everything maassively agreed. The point about Dalglish is that, at the time, he had a winning record better than even Alex Ferguson, he appeared to be a top, top appointment, of the calibre of Fergie, Wenger, Mourhinho etc now. He had also taken a great team on at Liverpool and improved them, and with flair players too. Exactly what we wanted here at the time. Then won the title with another club, a feat few have equalled. Won 3 manager of the year awards, and 4 titles in all. Saying he was crap or anything like questioning why he got the job, well the reason he got the job is for the reasons above. These hindsight merchants really make me laugh. Dalglish was an excellent appointment at the time, which is why I've never slagged Fat Fred for it. You are right in highlighting just why he looked such an attractive option back then. But his limitations became pretty apparent the longer he was away from Anfield. I think the dissent only set in with the consecutive appointments of Souness and Roeder, both terrible decisions from any angle. I hardly think a manager with all those honours could be termed as "limited" however I'm pleased that you acknowledge that for 7 out of 10 years you were quite happy. By the way, Roeder also came 7th in the league so make it 8 years out of 10. Hardly the sort of figures you would associate with a shite board. They say that Greggs pies are especially nice these days. I wonder how many company chairman buy them with company funds, despicable practice. Truly only shit chairman do such things. You know you're the only one who mentions pies these days Leazes? If you dropped that side of your attack I'm sure a lot more people would agree with your posts.

The English language should never been taken lightly my dear fellow. Respect it at all times (and maybe go back to school!). I'm not happy with the use of punctuation at the end there.

Even if they played at home infront of crowds of 2,000 how would they pay off millions of pounds of debt? It's ridiculous the way the club has been run and they'll be dead before the weekend. The fans don't seem to care, I haven't heard a single one pipe up about this. Didn't someone break in last night and steal the kit?

I'm struggling to see how it's familiar. Give me a clue please. come one, really? really? less glamorous than other english teams, debt ridden, everyone hates their talisman... 5+5=2 Swindon?

Hopefully they'll get Ameobi as an emergency loan deal, and then he'll score the winner

Trying to remember if I saw him last year, but haven't a clue. So no does it matter if anyones seen an 18 year old prospect play? you have to presume that the people being paid big wages have watched him enough to see potential you think arsenal fans are sitting there saying "arsene's signed an 18 year old from timbuktu...anyone seen him play?" I don't think that was the original point of the question. It would be nice if someone could tell us a little about him though, so at least we can debate on the subject?

This thread's going well. Is it a quiz?
