Now that's cleared up do we get to hear from England's Michael Owen?
-
Don't believe this story at all, but if we did sign him, we're certainly looking to break the top ten now, and worry about breaking the top 6 another season. I think we need to get used to a long transitional period where we sign players like Warnock and Guthrie.
-
And 6 and a bit weeks left before the transfer window closes, but still...may as well panic eh? You think we'll leave our signings until the last minute? Isn't that our usual tactic anyway?
-
I read that at 7.30 this morning man. Only just seen it now You said all the reports from Spain. Can we see the others now?
-
Is that really true? I don't know how you'd measure the column inches, but there was quite a bit of fuss about Martin Jol being out of favour and then Ramos arriving. No where near the coverage of KK's return. Google: Results 1 - 10 of about 966,000 for ramos tottenham Results 1 - 10 of about 697,000 for keegan newcastle. And there's a longer association between the words "keegan" and "newcastle" than between the words "ramos" and "tottenham". To be fair, Spurs have been linked with 19 million midfielders since he took over, so that might explain the extra press
-
I'd have no worries if Newcastle bid £18m for Keane. Not going to get a more proven scorer in this league for cheaper (apart from Cole, Yorke or Fowler I guess).
-
link? Its in Spanish you still want it? It? It? I want ALL spanish reports tbh

He was head and shoulders above everyone in the reserves at the time but was never going to break through in central midfield when the squad contained Sissoko, Alonso, Gerrard and Hamann (later replaced by Mascherano) and central midfield has been our strongest area for a number of years. He likes to retain possession and has a good eye for a pass. He played very well down at Southampton and more than held his own at Bolton despite the Megson-induced change back to boot-it-high-boot-it-long football. Could maybe do with a year on a steak and guinness diet to build himself up. I think he'll do well for you. And certainly better than some of your midfielders did last season. A ringing endorsement indeed. So he played better than the worst midfield in the league?

Please, don't kid yourself. IF Arsenal come in for him, he's gone.

And yet no one is dead or anything. What do you want to talk about then? Legitimate transfer stories would be a good start, maybe ones with a good source to back them up. Where is this one from? Sun, Mirror, or maybe Tottenham Hotspuds very own Daily Mail... ! You'd prefer a forum where people don't post then? Ye, that's what I said..... Clearly not, I just find that certain people get a bit carried away with stories published in some national newspapers. I mean the Mirror & Sun.. Come on, do people atcually read those things!! I'm not claiming (for example) George Caulkin in the Times is the oracle, but at least he is more reliable than most. But this whole forum is based on mindless speculation. If people only posted fact then there would be about 3 posts a week.

I've never hated any of our players. I've been frustrated that some of our managers have signed them and picked them, but it's hardly their fault. I loved Paul Kitson though. Not a great player compared to some of the players we've had, but he was a good bloke.

Sampdoria/Treviso midfielder Gionata Mingozzi dies in car crash

A lass I knew died last week. RIP. -
Smith was considered that before he signed, now we all hate the c***! Smith has always been average, and an angry gobshite, there's a difference. Nonsense tbh
-
In all seriousness, this would be possibly the worst signing of the season. We may as well get Bramble back tbh
-
Wouldn't come here in a million years. May as well ask for Gerrard.

Jonas Gutierrez signed from Mallorca on 5 year deal

So, where's the DVD? -
Better than Emre's too. Didn't Beye score from a corner this season?
-
But is that where you'd expect to be with the current squad? I just get the feeling some expect us to be pushing much higher than I think is reasonable at this stage. That's the point I'm trying to make. We should be aiming for europe in my opinion (the club, not the fans). I'd like to hear what expectations Ashley and Keegan have.

your never going to convinve me that he can help us break into the top ten. Was OKAY at Brum last year, and couldn't break into a fairly shocking Sweden squad at the euros. We'll see though His freekicks and corners alone would get us at least another 10 goals a season as his delivery is so superb and we have some dangerous finishers who would really appreciate a quality delivery into the box every now and then. Someone might feel he was just okay at Birmingham but that was Birmingham though, a pretty ordinary team. It's hard for players who try to play quality football to really shine in such teams. Put the likes of Owen, Martins and Viduka around him and I would imagine he would look a lot better. I think this is something we ought to remember. absolutely, if Solano/Laurent taught us anything it's that a good option for deliveries is like having an extra man on the field, despite flaws in other aspects of that man's game Speaking of Laurent...I was watching a video of him on youtube. He was absolutely immense for us at times, and I just wish he was more consistant. He would be worth having back just to show the rest how to take a corner or a free-kick. Get him as coach... To be fair, 99% of his corners were absolute trash. at least 10% of his corners led to goals, fact Putting "fact" at the end of the sentence doesn't actually make it fact. Nice try though. the fact that he in 2 of his 4 seasons had more assists than our whole team last season, shows the shambles of the quality in our midfield Absolutely. I loved Robert, and we've missed him big time. All I'm saying is that his corners were frustrating at best.
-
I think we'll finish 10th. However, I'm basing that on the current squad, and you've banned people from speculating.
-
Very good player. Has it to be up there with that tiny group of world class players. If he goes to Liverpool I think I'll give up watching football

Of course, although people have much more access to watching football these days, so more people are aware of him. I would guess that not many Newcastle fans had heard of Rob Lee, whereas with Sky and the internet, a lot more are aware of Guthrie. I think we're building a great reserve team tbh. I just can't wait to see some real quality added to the first team.* *Not talking about our first signing by the way
