Well he didn't play in our last game and played pretty well against Leeds. He had a few dodgy games when he returned from injury but has settled back into the side just fine (when he is picked).
-
Hasn't done so second half of the season and constantly gives the ball away trying to be more than he is capable. If he can cut this out and keep his game simple and within his limitation he can be a decent player.
-
Players looked nervous and scared on Monday, if a couple of days off can help them relax a little before the final push I'm all for it.
-
For context that would have been 13th this season. It's entirely possibly considering if Rafa is still here (on the basis that he will have already walked if he isn't backed).
-
First half of the season we didn't really in the traditional sense, mixed it up between some good passing play and then hitting it over the top to get Gayle in behind on the break. Since Christmas we've been dreadful, very little passing football and constantly either hitting it long to the big man or over the top for Gayle unsuccessfully, which teams have worked out now.
-
The hitting it long stuff, and not wanting to play at all, really can't be what he's sending them out to do (all the time). Rafa said as much in his post match comments.
-
It's not the points total and it's clearly not failure. It's the turgid football (Leeds game aside) since Christmas that have brought this on imo. Criminal that we didn't freshen up the squad with at least one signing in January tbh.

Newcastle United promoted back to the Premier League
Greg replied to Figures 1-0 Football's topic in Football
Because Fulham have been woefully inconsistent, e.g. played us off the park then followed it up with a draw against Blackburn and defeat against Wolves at home. Seem to have hit for again though with three straight wins, hopefully they can keep it up. -
Tried to, nobody wanted him.

Yes. Looked neat and tidy. Get him out on loan somewhere next season. -
Someone said the other day we will only be the 2nd out the last 18 to be relegated to go straight back up at first attempt via automatic promotion (should we finish the job).

Doesn't change the fact he has the most talented group of players in the division. Im sure about 100% of championship managers could/would say the same. Failing to get promoted with this squad would be a massive failure and f*** up regardless of lack of investment in january/not getting wanted players in the summer. That beeing said, Im extremely confident that he will take us up, and few bad games where we have our key spine in the team out with injuries doesn't change that. I like that he is keeping true to his philosophy as I think it will make the team more prepared for better teams next season. Who are all these talented players? Not counting say, Gayle, shelvey and Richie. In addition to those you so kindly already listed, Clarke, Yedlin, Atsu and Hayden would walk into the starting XI of any team in this league. Possibly even Anita, Mitrovic, Gouffran and Perez. Don't agree at all, Clark yes although none of us would have thought when he signed. Atsu absolutely not, big fan of Hayden and his injury is part of the reason why we've struggled. The other four, no. Goufran ffs. Please tell me which team in the f***ing championship would turn down the opportunity to field a 30 year old winger/striker with experience from PL, europe and previous ligue 1 winner? I know we don't like him on here, mainly due to previous years, but don't be so naive because of what the consensus is on here. Oh dear.

Perhaps Rafa knows how to turn off his Tapatalk sig?

Roles were reversed that'd be a great neet out. Hope it happens lads, you've all been really nice to me We've got 6,000 tickets. Would be class. Looking forward to it. Going to be class, hotel booked as a few pints will be drank. Same. We're in the Jurys Inn. Will need to pace myself as we get to Cardiff about 11am. Don't want to be like the two 40/50 year old blokes in front of me today at Ipswich that passed out p*ssed during the match. Novotel for us. What is Cardiff like for away fans? Never been myself. Haven't been since Shola scored in a 4-1 FA Cup semi final defeat to Man United where Nicky Butt forgot who he was playing for so not really sure what it will be like but hopefully should be a good day and night on the beer. Seems to be a fair few good pubs from doing a bit of research.

Must now know he's getting binned end of the season. Been fucking awful.

And wasn't backed in the January transfer window.

Geremi was still capable of some quality with his right feet. E.g. that cross against Sunderland. This lad is just gone. Hopefully one of the recently relegated sides will give us our money back on him.

Elliot Anita Mbemba Clark please god be fit Dummett Ritchie Shlevey Hayden Yedlin Perez Mitrovic

Just got home from Ipswich. Absolutely fucking awful that. Didn't even try to play. Players seem to be bottling it, all scared of the ball again like they were last season when we were going down. Nobody wants to play. The formation isn't the issue really, it's how we're not even trying to pass the ball and play any football. Rafa cannot be telling them to only play like this, something very wrong. I am no fan of Elliot but he should come in, Darlow needs time out. Shocking today. All in all, pretty furious with an utterly pathetic effort from all in black and white today. Weak men, no leaders. Need to grow some balls and get over the line. Need to just get over the line and then start the job of building a side for the Premier League. Need some proper leaders.

Simply awful. Didn't even try to get the ball down and play football.
