Thoughts, paedos kid-watchers? Good to see Inman getting a 2 year deal, he's clearly very talented as for the others offered pro deals I'm not sure if any of them will make it here but all 3 of them are defenders and they can develop later, I don't really rate Darren Lough but he's the only other genuine left back at the club apart from Jose Enrique so no surprise to see him get a 1 year deal. Matthew Grieve hasn't really played much this season and I think he's been injured so again not surprising that he'd be offered a 3rd year at the academy rather than a pro contract or being released.
  3. Come on, it's not Premier League football you don't really need to be that fit, it's 11 a side as well so not as intense as 5 a side. Sure you're out?

What a load of bollocks. how In what way can we not compete with Sunderland? We are having a good season, 2nd in the academy league and 2nd in the reserve league, both us and the mackems got to the quarters in the youth cup and came up against 2 of the best teams in the country, we were beaten 4-2 away at man city, thet were stuffed 4-0 or 4-1 at home to arsenal. There wasn't much between the sides when the reserves won 2-1 away at Sunderland with a very young side. Just as there was nothing between the sides when they beat us first game of the season. The academy are away at Sunderland next week so we'll be able to tell. I know exactly how we are doing thanks and have been to a number of Academy games this season including the 4-2 defeat at Man City you talk about, I wanted Jayson to tell me how he thinks we can't compete with them. Did we not actually beat them 3-1 earlier this season at Under 18 level? Their u18's will be 11 points infront if they win their next match, i dont see that as us competing with them. If we win our next game we'll be 4 points behind them, granted they'll have a game in hand but being a few points behind them in a league table which quite frankly doesn't matter at all is hardly not competing with them. Nobody is saying we have a great Academy and we don't but money and time has been invested into it and the progress we have made over the last year or so since Richard Money was brought in is clear to see, it's a small step and there is a long way to go but it is progress which is why people are giving some credit.
  5. 6 years ago to the day Inter played a tough Champions League game against one of the English top 4. Ended 2-2. http://cache2.asset-cache.net/xc/1842183.jpg?v=1&c=NewsMaker&k=2&d=17A4AD9FDB9CF19390335F8FA9CA92A602A230F8D82AA2F390F55034CEB503EE http://cache3.asset-cache.net/xc/1842251.jpg?v=1&c=NewsMaker&k=2&d=17A4AD9FDB9CF19390335F8FA9CA92A6EB5EF69938963F0290F55034CEB503EE http://cache2.asset-cache.net/xc/1848038.jpg?v=1&c=NewsMaker&k=2&d=17A4AD9FDB9CF19390335F8FA9CA92A6969A6DCF59DF2F8390F55034CEB503EE :-[
  6. I've sent a PM to everyone who registered an initial interest but is yet to confirm.
  7. It's law that was brought in to protect stadium attendences or something like that I think. I think the idea is, if they showed live TV on a Saturday at 3pm then people would stop going to matches because it'd be easier to watch on TV so they move it to 515 instead? what morons the FA are It is to protect lower league football, if a Premier League game was on TV at 3pm on a Saturday it would have a negative impact on the attendances in the lower leagues and in non league football.

Reads like a future dole queue. I'd guess 6 of them may well end up as millionaires, far from the dole.
  9. How about Sbragia – could he offer any searing honesty? He most certainly could. "I didn't bollock them," he began. "I just state the facts. We were f***ing s***. I told Steed Malbranque to take that late corner short and he said, 'Yes.' Then didn't. Our left-back George McCartney's in the box for it too. Why, I don't know. "But we shot ourselves in the foot throughout – Kieran Richardson's running around like a headless chicken trying to get booked. He was on nine and getting his 10th means he's out for a month." It had taken three minutes for Sunderland to move into a lead they so nearly held on to, Redknapp's afternoon of fury beginning when a sleeping rearguard allowed Richardson to ghost unimpeded into the area. A clever flick beat Heurelho Gomes, but, at the very least, he should have been challenged. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2009/mar/07/premier-league-sunderland-tottenham-hotspur

  13. Yeah, he's the captain of the Slovenia side.
  14. Yeah we do, played them on July 21st 2008, only 497 people turned up though.
  15. Aren't there plans to move away from the Stadium for a purpose-built football ground? I think they've been trying to find a new home for some time, not sure what the latest situation is though.
  16. It is a horrible place to watch football, the sooner Gateshead move to a new ground the better.

  18. Aye Berbatov, done nowt all season. Only created more goals than any other player in the league.
  19. Well does anyone know of any good grass pitches that can be hired?

It happens sometimes, I think Owen played one reserve team game a few years ago, Alan Smith has played 3 this season. Emre, Barton and Enrique all played in the reserves after coming back from injury last season.
  21. Great finish, goal out of nothing, Drogba at his best More like shambolic defending, still a good finish though.
