  1. Never knew about it tbh. I just remember how he had a stroke at very young age and his talk about the need of a healthy life style.

No mention of Dortmund's ongoing interest here in Jormany. Instead they are linked to Goian from Steaua and Corluka from Zagreb which might indicate a change of targets...

On a Jorman transfer forum it is said that SSN reported about PSG having agreed a fee of close to 4m Euro with Newcastle about 30 mins ago.

in the end it will be where the player wants to go.....not what the clubs agree between themselves. Nothing about this here in Jormany tbh. Also some dubious logic by his agent stating it just needs an official bid from Newcastle for the deal being finalised within hours but then saying that his client prefers Dortmund. Also didnt Dortmund officially pull out of the deal or something? Seems to me like the agent is just trying to hurry the deal up Well, not really pulling out, but officially conceding defeat as they think/thought they would be able to compete with the offer from an English club. There haven't been any news here afterwards.

  6. The recently organised penalty shoot-out was well worth it then...
  7. They at least have discovered that he is good for time wasting. That's why they normally bring him on in the last couple of minutes...

Not what I've heard. Interview with Stuttgart's director of football in the local newspaper. And I live near of Stuttgart.

Stuttgart don't let him go an a free and Villareal (where he is on loan at the moment) do have an option to buy him.
  10. Sibierski's just been on saying how he didn't really want to leave and that Wigan can finish in the top 7 Well, as he got the 2-year contract he wanted, he's probably speaking about his second season - when they are playing in the Championship....
  11. He'd be the first player to pay his club for playing...
  12. Bah Humbug. It was great and the German team and German football in general is still benefiting from it in terms of the change in football culture.
  13. Also, Gravgaard who is still linked with us did a nice bramble for Swedens first goal...
  14. so denmark score three goals, draw.....but yet still lose. just because one of their fans ran onto the pitch Not "one of their fans", IMO, just a f****** mong. Reports from the stadium say that people are furious at the stewards for not preventing that episode to happen in the first place. Oh, and Christian Poulsen is a mong too - punching a Swede player in the stomach while being in the penalty box just 30 sec before FT... oh dear oh dear. *sigh* Poulsen is an absolute dickhead. The stuff he does always behind the referees back to provoke the opposition back is just shocking. Hope he face at least part of the blame for spoiling Denmarks last chances and not just the mong of a "fan".

Luque is world class for f***'s sake. All he needs is a run in the first team, a bit more confidence, a decent manager who'll play him in a position that suits his game and a team of blindfolded ten-year-old girls to play against and he'll show you how good he is. FYP
  16. Not that I am aware of. I think the French lost interest to pursue it further. I couldn't find any judgement in the official database when I looked (quickly) some time ago. They probably either dropped it or there was some settlement. Oh yes, and Jormany beat the mighty San Marino 6-0. Yeah! 19-0 aggregate scoreline. San Marino did well/were lucky to hold onto a 0-0 nearly 'til half time. Wasn't a good performance from Germany and Lehmann should have been sent off when it was still 0-0 for a blatant handball outside the box.

  18. Wasn't it first some sort of punishment for his move to Newcastle which was violating the French regulations to prevent the moves abroad from youth players (the French FA didn't want to call him up as long as the trial at the CAS was pending)? I think the French FA still bear a grudge. Add to it his poor season and it's not really surprising, is it.
  19. Harsh. His league stats certainly don't show anything, but it's quite unfair to leave out his contributions in the cup competitions. Newcastle aren't dragging him down, no you'd have to be a Viana or a Luque to warrant that label The reason I feel Emre is was world-class wasn't based on the stats but the way he played. A fine example, especially the game that made me realize Emre was a class among the rest was Arsenal Inter at Highbury in 2003. He gave Arsenal a hell lot of problems that night! Caught a few other games he played in and he was usually good. Granted, Emre does lack the consistency. His best performance this season for us was against Pompey at SJP and I wish he could maintain that kind of high-level performance week in and out. I feel he's very under-rated because he's not usually the one that gets the assist but starts the move from the back. He's more of a secondary play-maker. khyberpass mentioned that Emre, proven by stats, was our most accurate passer of the ball and I guess that's what makes me rate him so highly because I'd get the feeling he knew what to do with the ball. This season when we were going forward, we seemed quite wasteful with the ball which was one of the reasons why we were always kept on the backfoot. That is one of the things we need to work on. The odd great game doesn't make a world class player. As I said, the Italian I spoke to and who watched him regularly said he was in and out of the team. You need to play on a consistent level to deserve the praise he gets from some. As for his passing stats. The problem with his passing is that 90% of the passes who find its addressee are in the own half. That of course isn't bad. The problem with Emre's passing is that it is becoming erratic as soon as he is under pressure. Especially in the opposition half he loses awfully often possession and spoils everything he has done well (defensively) before. I am very biased regarding Emre as I can't stand his unsportsmanlike antics, but I think the viewpoint of a lot of his fans is also very deluded.
  20. I think the two players from Portugal are seen as the future replacements for Scholes and Giggs. They will probably given one season to adapt to English football, so I can't see ManU getting rid of Scholes just yet.
  21. And nobody can accuse me of a lack of trying...
  22. Better than world class Fair enough, I think I should have said that. He was considered world-class because I'd seen him play for Inter and Turkey and he was an impressive player. Seemed to stand out from the rest. Strange, I am anything but a big fan of Emre and recently spoke to fierce Italian Inter fan who goes to loads of games. He said that Emre still lives a lot of the hype around him from the 2002 world cup. He had a couple of very good games at Inter, but mostly was in and out of the team, sometimes due to injury, sometimes due to indifferent form. Basically he agreed with a lot of concerns I have about Emre. I did not really pay any particular interest in Italian football then, but found it strange as loads of people on here as well as Turks I know do as if Emre was a lynchpin at Inter during his time. The reality seems to be a bit different. I had a look later at his league stats. 2002/03: 25 of 34 games, in three of the games brought on as a sub, 3 goals 2003/04: 21 of 34 games, in six of the games brought on as a sub, 0 goals 2004/05: 19 of 38 games, in seven of the games brought on as a sub, 0 goals Yes, but he is certainly proven world class and it's only Newcastle who are dragging him down...
  23. Wasn't a fee of under 2m agreed? I thought for this kind of money he would have done at least as a decent backup player with a chance to prove himself more.
  24. I am not sure which side is the one exaggerating. The ones who point to the occasional exception where he showed that kind of attributes or those who point to the rule and the apparent lack of natural awareness (which I agree with HTL is difficult to teach).
