Before the Liverpool game, if you'd done a straw poll of Newcastle fans - "Who looks better, Beye or Enrique", Jose would have had more votes. That's true. Beye went through an awful patch of form early on.

He was. I was baffled by some on here having a go at him for missing chances from difficult angles in the first half. Particularly the one where the ball was wide and he had 4 Chelsea players busting a gut to get back and no-one in support.

I don't think Rozehnal for Smith was a negative change. It allowed N'Zogbia to push up and moved Duff into the centre and it worked well enough. Owen for Martins wasn't negative either, it just messed things up when we were on top.

Faye was our best player I thought. The kind of midfielder we've needed for ages. It's just a shame that we really need him in defence too AND that he's going to the ACN.

Stayed there and their defence pushed up, grateful that no-one was gonna get in behind them anymore.

Even after we scored we kept having a go at them. It wasn't until Martins went off that they pushed up and gained the momentum.

Ironically he did f*** all when he become a LW. It was when Martins was taken off and our wonderous manager ridiculously decided to play for a draw, actually. Owen was a positive move. Martins was poor. We didn't lose because of that move. We lost the momentum when Martins went off. We lost cos the lines man got distracted by a bag of money being waved in front of him.

Same old Chelsea, always cheating.

Reading must be the only team to score 4 times in two matches and still lose.

I'd be willing to give him more time if some creative or skillful players are brought in. Otherwise it's just more of the same rubbish until the end of the season.

I'm actually warming to the idea of Shearer as manager. Seems like we need some kind of messiah figure to break our long running curse of bad luck (and sometimes out right shit). I'm sure we'd get attacking, sensible formations from him. Our last two successful managers were both people who had emotional attachments to the club. As a big name ex-player he'd probably be able to bring in some good players and he generally talks sense when he's on Match of the Day. Also there's the comparison of our form when he was assistant manager to Roeder compared with our form with Roeder on his own. Not saying I'm completely sold on the idea, but I can think of positives for Shearer.

I'd keep Emre, buy another creative midfielder and ship out one of the cloggers.

Who are these people who think Smith is top class by the way? I don't know anyone who thinks that.
