Think most people are fairly certain he's not. The split comes between those who want to force change, and the the large percentage in the ground that will always show support knowing full well that if the results despite their support are shite, the manager will inevitably go anyway. There's considerably more people flirting with the former camp purely on the basis that Pardew should already be on his bike by now. That doesn't make the other group idiots though. That's not really true under Ashley though. He's much quicker to get rid of popular managers whilst only heart attacks seem to take out the unpopular ones who are leading us to relegation.

There are teams that have been relegated and have kept their manager so I don't see that. Also how many clubs have sacked their manager 5 games after finishing 10th in the top flight? Not that I'm supporting the hopeless bastard, just playing devil's advocate. Spurs just sacked their manager for coming 6th. The previous one was sacked in 7th. The one before him was sacked after coming 4th. Houllier sacked after 'only finishing 4th' too. Worked out ok for them.
