Already been said they won't do any thing until July. Got to let the good players move before we pretend we're trying to do any thing other wise we might have to buy some of them. Before the season ended, they said they were going to do the transfer business early and now they say not till July. I wonder if they are waiting to see of they get any bids for players before deciding who to buy. Back in January, they said they were working hard on their Summer targets because they were supposedly going to recruit a lot of young players to pad out the squad because we haven't got the youngsters coming through. It's hard to believe anything that comes out of the club because they change their story too often. The last line sums it up nicely, hard to trust a single word these lot tell us. I know it's early but i'm really starting to believe this will turn into another farcical transfer summer. This need to sell before we buy rubbish, why? We are forever told by the club of the sound financial footing we are under, we shouldnt be even talking about selling our players. It's as if Ashley is secretly wanting offers. Clearly if a player is set on leaving or a stupid Carrolesque bid comes in for someone, then thats understandable. The club should be making positive noises about strengthening the side, not this constant verbal propaganda of our 'stars' leaving. That really bugs me. Everyone knows that virtually all clubs will struggle to hold on to players if a big offer comes in or a player wants to leave but no other club feels the need to advertise the fact as much as we do. It is yet another contradiction - the club seems to be constantly inviting offers for players and then puts all of their effort into trying to keep them. It's so they can spout about what a great job they did keeping our key players (to override the discontent that they didn't sign enough players).

A) Depends how we would have invested in the team had he not come here. We already had the second best team in the league at the time. No way to tell whether we'd have continued on or fallen away. B) Based on his punditry I'd say things would have been really bad with him as manager. Not that I think he would have got along with Ashley and Llambias for very long any way.

I don't think he's physically up for the Premiership. He always strikes me as a bit of a wimp when he plays. I'd say it's a make or break season for his career though (not just with us). If he can't stay injury free this season then as a player who's proven nothing (despite the hype) he'll fade into the football oblivion.

Just watch Remy and Bony sign for someone else and wait for the complete forum melt down.

What? I'm not sure anybody is writing him off like, more saying a big improvement is needed and if somebody is wiling to bid a stupid amount for him it wouldn't be the end of the world to sell him providing we get a replacement in first. This is exactly why it would be the end of the world to sell him. We're still waiting to see if this regime will bother to really replace Ba with like for like quality yet. You need to look up the meaning of the word 'providing'. You need to look up 'reality'. Oh, I live in reality all right thanks very much. In my dreams Cisse would score 21-25 Premiership goals this season past, as the poll at the top constantly reminds me whenever I venture in this thread. In reality he scored 8, and was nowhere near as good as the vast majority on here thought he could be. I don't want to see him leave except under the conditions I mentioned in that post. The conditions may be unrealistic themselves, but that doesn't make my statement any less valid. You said 'It wouldn't be the end of the world' if he was sold and replaced. We already need to replace Best, Lovenkrands (not the greatest players but played important squad roles) and Ba. Pardew has made noises that Shola might be off too. We don't really need to add to the situation by having to replace Cisse as well. It's like playing with fire as far as I'm concerned. Whilst I take your points on board it should be completely out of the question this summer IMO. At least until next summer after he's been sold in January .

Get French Football @GFN_France 11m Suarez grabbing Sagna around the neck... Bit nasty... #URUFRA #EDF What?

Maybe we'll have another January bargain hunt whilst they make noises about how they got it wrong in the summer again. Conveniently they can keep Pardew that way too.

For £25m we'll throw in Obertan.

Colo out and Pearce in would be about it, unfortunately. Dunno, could see us going against the grain and going for two expensive signings, one CB, one striker, while replacing anyone we deem worthy. http://screenshots.wegame.com/10-8815587378083501/8815587378083501_l.jpg

Extended holiday then.

Come and get me plea to Ashley blatantly.

I wish he'd stayed at Blackburn too. He's the reason we started our slide towards relegation.

Reminds me of that Simpsons scene when Willy sees his parents. 'So you're back then?' 'Aye' *Nods and walks off*

Said before that I don't think we'll sign any one of any note and now they're already building a rod for their backs.
