  1. As a general rule perhaps. The most important factor is having the right man with the right backing in terms of success though. I wouldn't advocate sacking Roeder now btw, it would do more harm than good imo. If we dont have the right man to replace him yes but if we find some top class manager then Roeder should go asap I'm guessing we don't have the right man to replace him lined up. the fat pig has plenty of time during the summer break How old are you? 22 Whats your point? It's obvious.
  2. Strangely, people blame Duff and call him crap because they wanted the manager to sign a LB instead. It doesn't really matter what he does, tbh. The same people will slag him regardless. Fact is he's not great, but he's not bad either. He's a proven PL player for the left side who became available and we needed one. Aye, we needed a left winger more than a left back, as evinced by yesterday's performance - yesterday? The whole season. But in your quest to defend the undefendable and as a result gain the englightenment only the One Shepherd can give, you couldnt care less. Needs to be pointed out that a certain Milner was also sitting on the bench, a player who has done more in about 3-4 games out on the left than Duff has done in 20. But again, your quest makes you KNOW for sure that Milner CANT play on the left. The quest goes on. Tally ho! WOOP! WOOP! LIAR ALERT!!! mackems.gif mackems.gif mackems.gif
  3. He still is highly rated by a number of members of this forum, by the media and unfortunately, by Roeder.
  4. How is this related to if he is a nice/good person !? thought it was obvious, then saw who was posting tbh Have to say, it was obvious.

  6. If you mean "odd" in terms of not very often I would have to disagree.
  7. Errr, right. Thought we'd moved on though, tbh.
  8. I pretty much agree with all of that, you can't expect an Owen and Martins partnership to work if we continue to fire long balls up from the back every time we get the ball. Absolutely, and that is going to be a big, big problem that I can see happening unless some other areas are changed. It's why I want to see Emre in the middle in place of Parker, for example.

  10. Eh? Which part of my post didn't you understand, matey? Are you here just to post shite?
  11. Not sure what he's worth tbh. He reminds of Macdonald right now, a bit of a one-man band, not a team player really. He's got a lot going for him but he's got a lot of improving to do because there's more to it than scoring goals. Shearer scored loads but was a team player also. Obviously as a world class player not everyone can be like Shearer, but Martins has to at least try to improve in the areas of team play where at the moment he's not really that good. Scoring goals and adding team play has to be his target, then he'll be worth a great deal more than he's worth right now. I expect him to improve when he's partnered by Owen, providing they get the service, which is going to be a problem with our current midfield/rest of the team.
  12. He wasn't. Emre did more in 5 minutes, for example. In any case, how well or otherwise Parker did last night doesn't deflect away from the fact that he's crap and isn't good enough for where we want to be.
  13. What an honest lad, admitting his mistakes right after the match. He is not only a good player but a good person as well. Therefore,we should keep him for the future. Ameobi is probably a nice lad. Carr may be a nice lad. Who gives a shit? It's what they do on the field that matters, not what they say off it.
  14. No. Next year will be 2008. This year is 2007. Stick to ID Cards...... twas another quality HTL post parky, don't you laugh now It cracks me up that the id cards debate still clearly haunts him. I'm happy with id cards, mate. They don't haunt me. It's you and your scaremongering mates who are obsessed by id cards, posting sensationalised s**** based on ZERO knowledge as you do.
  15. I have to say this is the only post in this thread that makes any sense. Not surprisingly only a couple of other people have agreed with this so far despite it being such an obviously good point. http://www.newcastle-online.com/nufcforum/index.php?topic=37342.msg742133#msg742133 mackems.gif mackems.gif mackems.gif With regards to the "better fullback = better Duff" arguement, theres not been any explanation as to why Duff was exactly the same player for title winning Chelsea with the likes of Del Horno, Gallas and sometimes Bridge behind him. A hard working but extremely cautious player who rarely beat his man. Only possible arguement is to deny that Duff was as bad for them as he has been for us, which is shiite imo. Maybe harder to tell in a better team as the fact that he does nothing most of the time gets covered over, but still exactly the same player that was playing for Chelsea in his last 1-2 seasons there. I've never thought Duff was that good, tbh. Same as I think about Parker.
  16. Still better than Shambles. It doesn't matter whether or not he's better than Bramble. What's your point? He's either good enough or isn't. Right now he isn't good enough regardless of what anybody thinks about Bramble.

    ITV - shite

The commentator on ITV is a prick. My wife and I aways take a guess at how long it will take him to mention manure during any football match that doesn't involve them. It took him just over 8 minutes last night, which is longer than usual.
  19. Yes, I agree wiith that too. I hope you have your tin hat at the ready.....
  20. Emre did change the game, in terms of how we were playing and our ability to drive forward. It's a pity he took off Duff for him though, it should have been Parker.
  21. Taylor iis just like Bramble right now, anyone who can't see it really does have their head in the clouds or somewhere. We all want him to succeed but there's nowt to be gained by being blind to the reality of his performances. However, he's got potential to improve. In the AZ games He could have done better for their 2 goals at our place and he also could have done better with their first goal last night imo. Makes stupid errors every game imo.
  22. Lost count of the times he tried to slide into challenges because he hadn't read the play properly. Ends up on his arse far too often. To suggest he's a better DM than Butt is a joke.
