  1. He said "big boys" meaning the big clubs that consistently finish above us, not a couple of clubs that have done it once or twice in 15 years. ^-^ We are the 6th best team in England ever when looking at all-time top-flight point haul. That means that as we have come an average of 8th/9th under Shepherd, that would say that his chairmanship has been below average. I think you're confused again.... Where exactly am I confused? Our average position under Shepherd has been 8.5th, while we feature at 6th place in the all-time top-flight league table. That means that Shepherd has been a below average Newcastle chairman. I'll play along......... What makes you think I have any interest in these stats? Have I ever posted them or even responded to them? Since you point out Shephard is an average Chairman are you suggesting I believe he's a great Chairman? Where have I ever said Shepherd is a great Chairman? Next..... Do you not use Shepherd's average league form as a reason to defend him? Or maybe that is someone else. Regardless, I thought it was a fact worth pointing out to those who feel that Shepherd is a better chairman than all of those we have had in our history. mackems.gif

  3. Err, the title I see displayed in my browser is : Newcastle versus the "Big Boys". What does it say in yours? When Sunderland last finished above us a good few years ago would you say they were one of the "Big Boys?"

  5. To be fair, Everton's trophy list would be greater than it is if not for the European ban in the 80's. They had a superb team the season they won the league and the Cup Winners Cup. Hypothetical, but I think they'd have taken some stopping in the European Cup if they'd been allowed to compete on that stage. Had that happened I think they'd have grown bigger and improved even further as a club. Instead the ban held them back. Ironic that the ban was caused by Liverpool fans.
  6. Interesting to see the comments about Charlton having nice fans, I've had problems with them twice in recent times. I also know of them wrecking the likes of Southampton when they've visited there. I think they're morons, tbh. Of those teams listed I have to say I'm apathetic about it, but if I had to pick one it would be West Ham for nostalgia. This is the same as I'd like to see clubs like Stoke and Burnley back in the top flight in place of shite little clubs like the nappy rippers and Blackburn, for example. I'd even go far to say I'd like to see the mackems back up for the tension of the derby games, which is a real miss when they're so shit. Just as long as they finish 4th bottom every season and win nowt that would be a win win win situation for us.
  7. Everton is a big club but if you go by fanbase not as big as Celtic.

  9. That's like saying Ameobi is the answer when he scores a goal. ^-^
  10. Agreed. It pays to be wary when signing players for big money who have only had one decent season at the top level. Applies to Sidwell and Reo-Coker imo. Among others. Sidwell's on a free as i'm sure you know, only reason I mentioned him. Otherwise he shouldn't be touched. I actually pay very little attention to whether players are on a free or not as whatever is saved in the fee to a club will likely to go the player in signing on fee and wages, plus agent pay-off anyway. They still cost. What and if we'd payed a fee the player wouldn't have got his signing on fee and the agent wouldn't have been payed off? Including these payments however, I'd see us getting Sidwell in on a free a tidy deal. Well I'm not a football insider or an agent but I thought they get their fees even if the club gets a fee, the difference is that their fees will be bigger if the club doesn't get a fee. It may not add up to as much but there is no such thing really as a free player.
  11. I don't agree blackburn and spurs are "better than us in theory".
  12. Aye, I'm happy. My team won, Bellamy was plagued by bad luck otherwise he'd have scored 4. Imagine him in our team playing alongside Martins instead of Dyer, something Newcastle fans would be over the moon about if it happened. Owen for Bellamy this summer maybe? By the way, using doesn't make it any less abusive than using the words. No need. That would be a great piece of business, but hardly likely is it ? He was superb yesterday and showed he has lost none of his desire and passion, just glad he didn't round it off with goals. You're right Martins and Bellamy would terrify any premiership defence. The booing yesterday was pretty minimal - it's always gonna be audible - but no one around where I was sitting joined in which probably indicates the majority of NUFC fans still appreciate him. If only we could get him back in a B&W shirt I agree it's not likely, but then I never thought we'd sign Owen, tbh. Stranger things have happened.
  13. I will rather have Reo-Cocker as a replasement for Parka Are you on drugs again? and Why do u hate Parker so much? Never done drugs. Don't hate Parker, just don't think he's very good. Why do you hate Butt so much? Or is it as I suspect and that it's because you don't think he's very good, which is the same as I feel about Parker of course, yet I don't accuse you of hating Butt. I dont hate Butt i just think that he is past his best,he is 32 and he dont have too much time ahead of him so thats why we must have a back up for him Parker on the other hand is 26 and the best years of his career are in front of him Recently he was poor but every player has his ups and downs I dont think that he is as poor as you say he is... But every person has his own opinion so... Right. So stop the daft remarks about drugs and hating Parker just because I have a different opinion to yours. Cheers

  17. Agreed. I just can't imagine where spurs and Blackburn came from. Most odd.
  18. I have A problem, with a s**** manager who appears to want to play certain people despite them not being fit to play in this league, or playing somone in preference to a player who was our best outfield performer last season. I never said Duff was undroppable, i said that idiot Roeder has played a poor Duff ahead of a better player before, and i think he would again. NM - As I've said to monkey who doesn't get it, young players who have a season like Zog did last year often fade in their second full season. It can really set them back because the reaction of some fans ignorant to this can undermine their confidence. In the games Zog did play before his injury he didn't do too well for whatever reason, backing up the point I'm trying to make. When he's fit I'd bring him back slowly, which we can do if Duff is also fit, but I wouldn't be expecting a great amount from him and people should give him time. I posted about this last summer before the season even started. Had everyone been fit bringing in Duff would have allowed Zog to be eased through his second full season without the pressure of playing every game, this is the best way to bring young players along imo. It's just unlucky that it hasn't worked out that way due to circumstances.
  19. Aye, but the topic is about Reo-Coker and Owen. You aren't allowed to move off topic apparently.
  20. I'd do a deal with the bin dippers involving Owen and Bellamy in the summer, tbh.
  21. I will rather have Reo-Cocker as a replasement for Parka
  22. It's very possible Martins would've never had those chances. I love Oba, but his vision is NOT as good as Bellamy's (combined with his runs, that's his main asset). Agreed. I'm sure most others will agree too.

  24. Let me guess. Copyrights HTL? Indeed. Milner has always looked comfortable on either wing. Better on the right, yes, because of his crossing, but still very comfortable there. Alot more than good enough as a backup for that wing. How old are you? Why you feel the need to lie on the forum is beyond me, tbh. No need. Here is a link to what I actually said, which is different to what is said in your lie.... http://www.newcastle-online.com/nufcforum/index.php?topic=35515.msg690722#msg690722 Which means, in simple terms for you to understand, that Milner on the left is like Taylor at RB, he can fill in but that's all. In my opinion. Youve merely changed your stance. No suprise there. Read this post of yours: http://www.newcastle-online.com/nufcforum/index.php?topic=35585.msg692363#msg692363 Let me repeat what you said: "Dyer and Milner arent good enough for the left. You can't just throw someone at a position and say 'hey presto', we've filled that gap on the left." Heres what I said: "Milner has always looked comfortable on either wing. Better on the right, yes, because of his crossing, but still very comfortable there. Alot more than good enough as a backup for that wing." Honestly, theres no arguements imo, Milner can play on the left as much as Owen can play up front or Given can play in goal. Two sensible posts from me that you've linked to there, neither of which say what you claimed I said. Just keep the lies coming. How old are you?
