  1. For the first time ever, secretly hoping we do lose in the desperate hope that defeat to the scum, following another shite transfer window, might break the apathy and get large numbers of "fans" protesting against Fat Ash and his cronies. I see the twisted logic but, a) we won't get rid of Ashley and his cronies b) there won't be any protests c) at the first sight of those red and white abominations contaminating our pitch, all the theory and dastardly plans will go out the window. You're probably right, but I would trade another home defeat by the scum for 20 or 30,000 Geordies screaming for Ashley to fuck off!

I've finally seen the light! Ian W doesn't really exist, he's not a real person. Don't you see, he's a permanent devils advocate sneekily designed to wind people up, to ensure that Newcastle Online continues to be the most used Newcastle fan's forum on the internet. Very clever. I wish I had realised sooner, it would have saved me two smashed laptops, untold cups and glasses and a stomach ulcer.

Genuinely thick as f***. Unnecessary. Well start making sense then. What has the length of time we've been in the league got to do with where we can be finishing? If we kept Cabaye and signed another striker and a left winger earlier on in the window I see no reason why we couldn't challenge for a Champions League place? We're 9 points off 4th now and were 6 points off at the start of January. Because it takes time to build a quality squad, unless you're spending tons of money which we never will. And on your way up you'll have players poached, which sets back the process once again. People are frustrated because they feel we're not that far away. I don't rate our players as highly as some do and basically think we are where we should be give or take a couple of places. I'm not thrilled about where we are obviously, but I'm not going to be spending all my time following Newcastle in a never ending rage either. This is meant to be enjoyable! We are where we should be give or take a couple of places? Based on what exactly? Ah yes, the level of "ambition" that is very much the reason for all this anguish. The fact is you and a few other posters on here have just allowed yourselves to be led down the garden path of accepting mediocrity, not even trying to be the best we possibly can. You're right, this is meant to be enjoyable, but it hasn't been for years and years. A once proud football club aiming for the stars has been slowly but surely turned into a profit making advertising vehicle without any competitive ambition. This mentality spits straight in the face of such legendary figures as Sir Bobby Robson and Kevin Keegan who didn't accept such artificial, self imposed restrictions, but who saw the potential of this football club and genuinely had it performing at the highest level. We are where we should be give or take? Give over.. Very well said!

In Pardew's head, maybe. Under a Keegan, or another attack minded manager...

Pardew has fucked him about, and will continue to do so, so if he's got any ambition to play in the World Cup he should be looking for a move now imo.
  7. And that hasn't changed really for the best part of 60 years, so why it's so tragic now is beyond me. Exactly. If anything it's more understandable because of the wealth that has gone into the likes of Chelsea and Man City. It's not really a sporting competition in the proper sense of the word. The current situation is "tragic" because the current regime is blatently taking the piss out of their customers - the loyal supporters of NUFC. That is the point that you, and others, are so tragically missing.
  8. John, I think you said the club's communication was non existent and the fans didn't know what was going on. I think actions speak louder than words and it's patently obvious what the clubs strategy is: 1) Use NUFC as a glorified billboard for Sports Direct 2) Survive in the Premiership whilst spending as little as possible 3) Extract as much piss out of the Geordie mugs as possible
  9. How many Premiership officials are there on City's payroll???
  10. Well done Joe on getting one over the line!
  11. Cabaye - 5 in last 7. He would have scored tonight. That's the reality of life without him.
  12. Sigh. Go on then, tell me... I couldn't put it any better than what .com have said about Cabaye's transfer: "Good business" then we'll doubtless be told, but another one those invisible threads connecting fans to their club has been severed when the proceeds are just trousered. Sadly, it becomes ever more justifiable for fans to also decide that it's "good business" for them not to buy tickets - not just for meaningless cup ties, but for what are meaningless league games. Presumably the players would be fined for finishing in a European spot. Rather than there being a riot (as the Cabaye song says), there comes a point when people say "why bother" to financially or emotionally back a club whose deliberate policy is not to achieve anything of worth on the field. Selling your best player - again - is a neat way of highlighting that policy.
  13. Strike a light guvnor. As usual that's not what I said and not what I believe at all. Whew. It's the opinion you continually portray. It's the acceptance that has allowed all this to happen. Are you outside of SJP with a banner today like Andy? What? I vote with my feet. Fair play to you. FWIW I only attend about 8 games a season, so I'm doing my bit as well. You're not "doing your bit". You, and others like you, are perpetuating this shite!

Is this the Ben Arfa thread?
  15. Newcastle set Yohan Cabaye transfer fee at minimum £25m after rejecting £14m PSG offer (Daily Mirror) http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/newcastle-transfer-news-yohan-cabaye-3064790 Cashley must be loving this!

Playing Hatem on the left wing is akin to chopping the bollocks off Frankel.
  17. Could you imagine? I want to live in that alternative reality please!
  18. Classless! Fits nicely with Wonga, Sports Direct and Kinnear!
  19. Aye, it's called Casa St James' and he bought it with the severance package he got from us.
  20. We were spoilt when Keegan and SBR were our managers. Before Keegan and post SBR we've endured shit and, for the vast majority of our history since the early 70s we have been shit with shit managers, including owners/chairmen. The lads who continue to go to games, buy shirts and continue to pay for Sky subscriptions and then come on here to whine about the shit the club is delivering need to wake up and realise that they are perpetuating the delivery of said shit. The golden years will return, but not with this lot running the club. The only way to hasten the change is not to give the current regime a penny of our hard earned. They'll soon get the message and fuck off.
  21. “West Brom sort of let us have possession today and we had a lot of it and we controlled the game to a degree. “A few breakaways they had but other than that I felt confident that we would win the game…but the sending off did change it of course. “Unfortunately, I think it was a red (Debuchy) and then it was uphill and after the amount of games we got tired and we had injuries as well; we had to keep shuffling our team and in the end something give.” He also said 'we looked jaded, which was to be expected'. Well why the fuck didn't you freshen the starting eleven up, you arsehole?
  22. Santon's interview on radio Newcastle before the game today, where he said the team's priority was getting to 40 points, was very enlightening. It just confirms Pardew's safety first, negative mentality which he imposes on the squad. Even from the position of relative safety we're in, he still couldn't bring himself to take the game to a poor WBA side who were desperately short of confidence today. His mentality before the Arsenal game should have been Champion's League or bust, as we don't really want the Europa League again and we're not going down this season. He epitomises the phrase 'one dimensional'.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

If he's got any aspirations to play in the world cup in Brazil he has to find himself a new club in this window. Pardew is, and will continue, to fuck his career if he stays here.
