  1. Horrific tops, don't know why I expected anything else tbh. Woeful.

Will he ever go? :'( We do bad better than any other club.
  3. I actually like the idea, Mike. You're alright after all.

Liverpool last season? Wigan this season for sure. Man U at home last season?
  5. Next week is the only game I give us a chance of winning. Sad thing is, Pardew is going nowhere any time soon; we all know it.
  6. I looked a few weeks ago, was surprised how little I could find. IIRC the best option was to get a company to make you some bespoke iron-on logos but then you'd be treading into copyright etc... Might be worth trying one of those crappy T-shirt/hat stalls that have a computer-based sewing machine and seeing if they'd knock you one up. Cheers Dave, wish you could just buy them off ebay or something.
  7. Is there any way you can get Umbro badges to stick on these retro shirts? Just dont look right without them.

I think too much has been made on the 8 year contract. After Allardyce and Keegan, he was never gonna pay out an insane sum for sacking a manager. If anything the contract merely means any club coming in for him after his MOTY award needs to pay a huge compensation. Ashley would also have an escape clause somewhere in there offering much less than the 8 years worth should he sack Pardew. You're probably right but for me a manager with 1-2 years left on his contract, effectively playing for his next contract would put in more effort and dedication to his job than a man who knows that he just has to do the bare minimum year in year out to keep him in beer?
  9. Agree with what you say, we all have to remember that while we had the worst day in living memory, they had an absolute World Cup day when it came to their goals. They probably wont have a better day in those terms for the next decade....

As has been the case for many of our players in recent years, he is too secure in his position. Eight year contract was an idiotic move on Ashleys part.
  11. Exactly, if yesterday can't provoke a reaction with some guilt edged performances over the last 5 games we might as well pack up and go home. Aye, if we fail to get points out of Liverpool and Arsenal at least we can rest easy, safe in the knowledge our scintillating away form will see us through. Well despite being poor our away form is actually still better than 5 other Premier League teams, including Stoke and Norwich (we're joint 12th on away form) Thought we'd lost about 5 off the bounce away from home? 4 defeats since we won at Villa. Ah right. What a big win that may turn out to be. Glad we played Villa when we did tbh.
  12. Were you complaining about it before kick off though? When I saw the lineup I would have preferred Haidara but I certainly wasn't griping about Jonas starting there too much as I could see the merit in it, hes been playing well there for a couple of games prior to this one, it also allowed a more attacking player such as Marveaux to be occupying the space Jonas would usually play and be ineffective in. Complained as soon as seen it. I hate the bloke and hate the fact that Pardew always finds a way to include him. He is the most limited footballer in the team, where Haidara appears capable of passing the ball, defending etc, Jonas gets ball, runs in straight line, falls over / loses ball. Rinse and repeat, he is an awful footballer who has no place at this level anymore That's not true though. He's woefully misused. I will continue to maintain that he has more composure on the ball and is a better defender than Tiote, and should be played in central midfield ahead of Tiote (though Anita should be ahead of both). Agree with this. Never had a problem with Jonas when he's been played CM. Retains possesion quite well. I dont know if its a fitness thing with him, Used to love his marauding runs down the wing (which we still see on rare occassions now) but he just seems so ineffective most of the time out there.

Seriously, how hard is it to get good technical players who love to pass the ball and move to.......errr.........pass the ball and move?
  14. For me it was the same feeling you get when you have been absolutely legless the night before and you wake up and realise that last night you ended up grabbing your mates lasses arse and or tits. You know the feeling right? Utter devastation.
  15. I say no. Debuchy was one of the few players who looked reasonably up for this I thought, tried a good few lung busting runs forward even if they came to nothing.
  16. Exactly, if yesterday can't provoke a reaction with some guilt edged performances over the last 5 games we might as well pack up and go home. I think it will give us a massive kick up the arse this. With full weeks between games now surely we have got to put in some decent performances which will result in at least one win.

I agree, but I can't figure out whether its because hes unwilling to change or just doesn't know how to change, either way its troubling. Bit of both I suspect.

The main gripe I have with Pardew is that I dont think he is learning from any of this, any of his mistakes. I honestly believe that say in 5 years time he will still make the same ridiculous mistakes in all facets of his management of the club.
  19. Reckon if anybody does that this year it will be Stoke, how they have dropped since the new year is ridiculous really. Teams like that usually bully their way to a good result when the going gets tough though. I can't see them going down tbh. It'll either be Stoke or Norwich, both have been dropping down alarmingly for several games already where as we've being picking up enough points to keep us in a similar position in the table. Teams don't usually look safe with 5 games to go and then drop like a stone, in fact no team has ever been relegated after being 13th at this stage in the season. I don't think we'll be relegated FWIW. We have enough quality players to grab at least one win from the games left. Agree. We will win one more game, surely.
