  1. http://www.footballfancast.com/2010/08/football-blogs/ben-afar-maybe-too-much-of-a-gamble-for-pl-clubs?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+ffc_newcastle_united_blogs+%28FFC_Newcastle_United_Blogs%29 Write up about him on here.
  2. I can remeber how gutted I was at the time that we'd never got either lol.
  3. Took about an hour for me but can take up to 24 hours. Bollocks!!! Best ring now then. Cheers mate
  4. Anybody know how long it takes for ESPN to switched on when you subscribe to it ?
  5. My only concern with a loan is that he does well and ends up going somewhere else. He's still young so surely if we could get him for a decent price we'd still recoup the majority of our money if we were to sell him.
  6. The only time I would ever "whinge" about a player not doing it on the pitch is if it was someone who wasn't good enough and should never have been signed in the first place. If we took a gamble on a talent like Ben Arfa (or someone like say Anelka, when we were linked to him countless times in the past), players that are better than what we have/had, then imo it's a risk worth taking and I for one would not "whinge" if that risk didn't pay off. I'd be gutted yes, but I wouldn't "whinge" about it.
  7. Does anybody really give a crap if we sign controversial or temperamental players as long as they do the business on the pitch ? Ok you cannot guarantee that a player will be successful but surely it's worth taking a risk on someone who is only available because of attitude rather than ability ? A player, who given our current standing, we'd never be able to attract if they didn't have bad points ? Bellamy was controversial and Robert was temperamental yet those 2 changed us from a bottom half of the table side to a one in the top 4 almost over night. What I'd give for a couple of signings like them 2 now. Did anybody see anything wrong with team spirit when Robert scored the 3rd in the 3-1 win at Highbury, when Nobby scored the 4th in 4-3 win at Elland Road or when Dabizas scored the only goal at the SOL ? I hate it when people talk about the character or attitude of a player we're being linked with. As long as they're not a nonce, granny basher or murderer I couldn't care less as long as they're better than what we already have at the club.
  8. She's a Scouser and I've mentioned this before but only a few months ago she was in one of my mrs mags saying she wishes Rafa Benitez would sign Jamie so she could go back home. That doesn't sound like the words of someone who doesn't want to leave London.
  9. The Burnley Express is saying the deal is dead because Krul picked up an injury on Saturday and the Journal are saying that the deal is on ice because Harper picked up an injury on Saturday.
  10. I'm pretty certain that was Frazier Campbell and whichever paper originally recorded that got it completely wrong. Not saying he's slow mind, he certainly gave Gareth Bale a good foot race against Spurs last season. Got to be Frazer because Sol was playing in League 2 when that article came out and no fooking way is he quicker than Torres or Anelka.
  11. Don't know if it's been mentioned or not but apparantly Blackpool are wanting to take him on loan.
  12. Makes me sick how the likes of Man City and Rangers can sell last seasons shirts off for a tenner or less, yet we're changing kit makers and they're still around the 20quid mark. Greedy fookers.
  13. Sorry scrap that, just noticed that they're jnr's.
  14. http://www.sportsdirect.com/adidas-newcastle-united-away-socks-2009-2010-373003 There ya go mate
  15. My mate is a hardcore Rangers supporter and he is adamant that Boyd has signed or is about to sign a new deal with them.
  16. Man City offer £20m for Milner.
  17. Doubt that'll happen. It was the NOTW that ran that story and their was a retraction and an apology in Sundays saying they were wrong and that it was not going to happen.
  18. She is from Liverpool she knows the delights of the North. But she's an A lister now don't ya know (or so she thinks) so being too far away from the bright lights in that London just won't do! It was in one of the daily rags last week, possibly The Star, that she'd put posts up on her Twitter page urging Rafa Benitez to sign her fella. So can't see moving back up north being a problem.
  19. I had the misfortune of seeing some of Celtics last league game and I have to say if that's the standard of the SPL then the Championship is stronger imo.
  20. Did the person who said he'd seen the new shirt ever comment on the mock ups that people have posted on here going off his initial description ?
  21. Did anyone buy one of these? Fooking hell they've now framed it and have added an extra £135.00 for doing so.
  22. How much are the current shirts instore now ?
  23. Doubt it'll come down to what his slutbag thinks tbh. Fulham and the likes will be able to offer more than we can in wages and that'll probably be the deciding factor. I'm in full agreement of tightening the purse strings but it's typical that when we're in a situation where we might need to offer a bit more, to convince someone to take a gamble & join a newly promoted club, we're not going to be able too.
