I could understand his love for Cardiff but he's in his 30's now, isn't that when they realise the end of their career is fast approaching and are starting to look for one last pay day ?? Really couldn't see him losing out on tens of thousands per week just to go back home. And although he left under a cloud, and us being one of the favourites to go down, I'd still imagine we'd be more of a pull than Fulham.

I would imagine we'd have as good a chance of any if he were to only go out on loan. It's not like City need the cash so I'd imagine their reluctance in him going to Spurs is true. Out of the teams reportedly interested surely neither Celtic or Cardiff would be able to pay him more than what we could, and he cannot go to Sunderland on loan. Would he really choose Fulham just because of Mark Hughes ?

Someone over on Skunkers saying that Paul Scharner is in the same hotel as HBA.

Don't know if it's already been mentioned but he's been dropped from Marseilles squad for the game at the weekend.

How is Nile going to Blackpool an exclusive ? What a load of shite!!

Carrick not injured and in the starting line up for Manure and Cleverly doesn't make the bench. Is he available for loan again ?

I can remeber how gutted I was at the time that we'd never got either lol.

Took about an hour for me but can take up to 24 hours. Bollocks!!! Best ring now then. Cheers mate

Anybody know how long it takes for ESPN to switched on when you subscribe to it ?

My only concern with a loan is that he does well and ends up going somewhere else. He's still young so surely if we could get him for a decent price we'd still recoup the majority of our money if we were to sell him.

The only time I would ever "whinge" about a player not doing it on the pitch is if it was someone who wasn't good enough and should never have been signed in the first place. If we took a gamble on a talent like Ben Arfa (or someone like say Anelka, when we were linked to him countless times in the past), players that are better than what we have/had, then imo it's a risk worth taking and I for one would not "whinge" if that risk didn't pay off. I'd be gutted yes, but I wouldn't "whinge" about it.

Does anybody really give a crap if we sign controversial or temperamental players as long as they do the business on the pitch ? Ok you cannot guarantee that a player will be successful but surely it's worth taking a risk on someone who is only available because of attitude rather than ability ? A player, who given our current standing, we'd never be able to attract if they didn't have bad points ? Bellamy was controversial and Robert was temperamental yet those 2 changed us from a bottom half of the table side to a one in the top 4 almost over night. What I'd give for a couple of signings like them 2 now. Did anybody see anything wrong with team spirit when Robert scored the 3rd in the 3-1 win at Highbury, when Nobby scored the 4th in 4-3 win at Elland Road or when Dabizas scored the only goal at the SOL ? I hate it when people talk about the character or attitude of a player we're being linked with. As long as they're not a nonce, granny basher or murderer I couldn't care less as long as they're better than what we already have at the club.

She's a Scouser and I've mentioned this before but only a few months ago she was in one of my mrs mags saying she wishes Rafa Benitez would sign Jamie so she could go back home. That doesn't sound like the words of someone who doesn't want to leave London.

SSN is no longer on TV Catch up.

The Burnley Express is saying the deal is dead because Krul picked up an injury on Saturday and the Journal are saying that the deal is on ice because Harper picked up an injury on Saturday.

I'm pretty certain that was Frazier Campbell and whichever paper originally recorded that got it completely wrong. Not saying he's slow mind, he certainly gave Gareth Bale a good foot race against Spurs last season. Got to be Frazer because Sol was playing in League 2 when that article came out and no fooking way is he quicker than Torres or Anelka.

Don't know if it's been mentioned or not but apparantly Blackpool are wanting to take him on loan.

Anyone know where to buy the yellow away socks!?

Makes me sick how the likes of Man City and Rangers can sell last seasons shirts off for a tenner or less, yet we're changing kit makers and they're still around the 20quid mark. Greedy fookers. -
