Always liked Rooney also and big fan of his style of play. Usually great to watch and especially at his peak with Man Utd. But it's also very fair for him to be criticised over his England tenure.
-
Did Dugarry not get played out of position in his few games for Barca?
-
I'm still waiting for Riviere to recreate his 12 goal a season form at Monaco tbh. His regression to the mean is going to be amazing! Believe.
-
Why not. Another player who has hit rather incredible heights at club level. Although he goes out with the goal scoring record, you can't say he'll leave a mark that record should carry with it.
-
Hmm, that's a tough one... He might be a world beater when not hungover. HTT playing the long game.
-
Well therein lies a big part of the problem. Everything is always black and white and blame either swings 100% one way or another. I'd say in such an instance Aguero absolutely needs to receive blame also. Warning, or suspensions if repeated etc... Otherwise, it's just good on him, pat on the back and move on to the next time. And there's no other real word for it than "flopping"
-
In theory of course this is right. And it's also partly my point that it would be very silly to get to such a situation. But when you see all the terrible or very soft yellow cards that pollute matches (most of which will result in bans one way or another) then it becomes a logical idea.
-
They re-emphasised rules about retrospective bans for players flopping. Yet to see them really apply it. We'll see what Aguero gets. They should be dishing out 5 or more bans every week these days.
-
Nope, which is a disgrace. Given how easily and wrongly they dish them out now, the rule should adapt. You should be able to rescind single yellows too! The softness of the refereeing plus the overreactions by basically every player, always nowadays. Tedium of watching games is just getting worse.
-
The phrase "this is why we can't have nice things" comes to mind. Worrying that he might get stick for home games now.
-
Messi playing left back, tough times.
-
Class by Kante. Eriksen wanted to bring him down, but he was having none of it.
-
[emoji38] Diame. That was hilarious, tbf.
-
... such a lack of basic quality there.
-
Let's not start with diving now please. Pretty sad.
-
Another free kick and talking to for playing the ball. Haha, what a coward this ref.
-
Dont think he did, thought the ref just had a word. Nah, no booking... all very stupid
-
What in the fuck? Got the ball.
-
Nice little hat trick of non clearing the first player by Ritchie there.
-
What an annoyingly good save.

That is one of my bigger concerns with the use of technology. I don't trust the modern day officiating bodies to make good calls. We'll likely end up with loads more non fouls being brought up as opposed to an overwhelming wave of correct decisions. It would push the levels of bullshit in football even further and we'll hear even more often "There was contact", "his arm was out", "you can't stand like that" etc... to justify game changing decisions over nothing.
