It's abused way too much. Most keepers take the absolute piss when their team is in the lead, but then why not, given that it's never really enforced. There should be some leeway, sure, for keepers when they are crowded. But you often see keepers hold on for 15-20 seconds.

Who mentioned the Royal Family? Surely by your logic that if we dislike something that we pay taxes toward we should seek employment in another country? The Royal Family is a large part of our history, just like the army There's a big difference between disliking something, and actively hating something and constantly making statements (political or otherwise) about it. Like I said earlier, if he really feels that strongly about it, go and play in another country. It's all about them pushing the brand. Think the music is used in the international TV coverage. They've gone in really hard on that in the last two seasons. New logos, that bright colour scheme, dropping the sponsor etc... But again, no reason for it to replace any team's entrance song. Silly. If anything the weight of the "brand" lies in the history and traditions of the clubs.

I suppose it's inspired from the Champions League ceremonial. Just seems a shame to have it trample over a club's tradition.
