Not sure they 'learned their lessons' this January at all. More the fact the realised the magnitude of the situation and knew that unless they went out and bought Pardew half a team then there was a fair chance of going down. That Reading (H) result was the moment of clarity.

Only 10 tickets left on viagogo. Upwards of a ton to get one like.

Sorted. What a fuck on though.
  4. You can't question his loyalty to the club even though you can (and I have, on numerous occasions) question his career choices. Now's not the time for that though, I wish him all the best. He's rarely let his club down and was a major player for us in our promotion season when it could have quite easily gone to complete shit. And for that I'm grateful to him.
  5. If he's well enough to support San Lorenzo from the stand then he's well enough to support the team that pays his fucking wages from the stands. As long a he's under contract then we should be his priority, just hope Llambias and Ashley dig their heels in a bit this summer and get something out of SL when he, inevitably, moves back there this summer.
  6. Unloved is an understatement. Nobody can stand the little prick.
  7. It's almost as if Whelan deliberately come out with something controversial in order to get people talking about him... Wouldn't give a bucket of piss for his opinion on anything.
  8. No way can Halsey just shrug his shoulders and say "didn't see it". He's looking squarely at the fucking tackle. He watched it happen. He follows the paths of the ball and sees the whole incident from start to finish. I realise a player briefly runs into his line of sight but "sorry, didn't see it guv" isn't acceptable. It's incompetence. That's without even starting to ask what the fuck his linesmen were looking at. Needs to lose his job.
  9. Every now and again a game happens that makes you want to just walk away from the fucking sport. Today was one of those days, don't even want to discuss anything about the game. Just fuck off. Absolute cunts.
  10. Jumping the gun a bit but his leg looked very wobbly after the impact. Wouldn't be surprised if he's snapped his knee ligaments. That's the exact tackle the authorities are trying to stamp out of the game and Halsey has completely missed it. Fucking joke. Just hope it looked worse than it actually was but it's awful for the lad. Never mind the fact we should be playing with against 10 men. Fuck this season.

thing is there's loads of springfileds, theres only one sunderland (thankfully) and thats too many. my nasty town here in the states has a sunderland st. but no newcastle! yeah but you have to remember where the name comes from, it's a mix of sun and under-land, the sun under land is like a dante description of hell. I've been and thats not far off. It actually comes from the land that was cast asunder years ago. The locals of the time left the area and it became the 'Sundered land' the ''land cast asunder''. Bloke who I used to work with was pretty hot on his local history. He may have been wrong but that's his version of it. It does mean 'Sundered land' but in this case 'sundered' means separated. It was part of the Monastery lands belonging to Monkwearmouth and as such was separate from the surrounding area Perhaps? Long time since he told the tale tbh it's something like that.

Loads of season 'card' holders saying they'll give it up and pick & choose the games they go to while mainly feeding off free or massively reduced tickets. Brother in law is doing exactly this. The free/discounted tickets isn't putting him off it's purely down to the football. He's got ''better things to spend his money on'' and has lashed his renewal pack in the bin without even opening it. He watched the 19 and 15 pointers too so he's done his time so to speak, he's just had enough.

I think Pardew got it wrong and risked him at precisely the wrong time but can sort of understand why he did. Don't agree with it but we don't know what the discussions were to come to the decisions in the first place. Pards: I'm thinking of growing a beard. hatem: Boss this pitch is suicide for me hamstring... pards: Maybe shave the sides a bit to give it some coutours... hatem: Boss? pards: Oh look it will be it will match the snow... hatem: I'll get changed boss. pards: What? yeah yeah...

I'm sure it's a 'risk' most of the posters on here were going wild about at the time. Every fucker is wise after the event. Lets give the club the benefit of the doubt. Personally I thought it was daft to start him in that particular match under those particular circumstances. I was delighted to see him involved but throwing him in from the start was pushing it a bit. No point whiniging about it though, it's done. Get the lad fit by hook or by crook. Twitchy hamstrings hate the cold. I mean that's physio 101. Granted, but if the physio has given it the green light then you take it at face value. It was daft imo but we'll never know what happened so it's hard to apportion blame. I'd have erred on the side of caution but Pardew went for it and it's backfired. Such is life. Get him fit and get him playing asap.

  18. Hopefully Krul has been watching the way Eliott finds one of his own players when releasing the ball. Absolutely. Krul's the better keeper but Eliott's distribution is head and shoulders above Krul's.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

We'll never know if starting Ben Arfa in sub-zero conditions on a plastic pitch in Moscow have contributed to this but it certainly can't have helped things. Not Pardew-bashing for the sheer hell of it but it was an obvious barmy decision at the time. Certainly a risk that shouldn't have been considered let alone taken. Never mind, just get the lad put right and get him fit. If it takes 6 months then so be it.

    Papiss Cissé

The crossing into the box tonight, and all season, has been woeful. Corners are a waste of time, free-kicks are wasted more often than not and crosses on the run are mis-hit from both wings. It's not even funny any more, it's been fucking dreadful. Needs to be addressed asap.

Obviously not sarcastic at all though...
  22. Don't think we'll see him on the park again. Had a hunch with the way he subbed himself against Soton, walking all around the Gallowgate rather than going directly to the bench. Hope I'm wrong obviously.
  23. Mackems name 5 defenders and a keeper on the bench. And Vaughn.
