I agree we've made a mess of the LB situation, but would they not have been slated if they'd sold Enrique cheap to Liverpool to get it done quickly? Had we bought his replacement before we sold then it wouldn't be as much of an issue. We sold him to maximise income and we now find ourselves in the same position so any benefit goes out of the window because clubs will put their prices up. Totally hypothetical but had we bought Pieters a month ago we may have got him for £5m. We could then have sold Enrique and been up on the deal. As it is, we've let him go for £6m but now PSV are pushing up the price to £6m and beyond because they know we've not got a LB and could end up costing us more? They've fucked it right up.

Their greed to get the maximum for Enrique has meant they've now painted themselves into a corner. They've got no-one to blame but themselves.

The underlying problems that the club currently has won't go away because of one result. Win, lose or draw the derby and the same questions will still need to be asked about the way the club is being run.

The bills need to be paid and I've not got a single problem with using some/all of the Carroll fee to go towards paying overdrafts etc off. I just want the club to be honest about it. I want us to punch our weight and invest as much as we can afford to using the money that comes into the club.

Not if we're in the same boat, no. I know we sold Carroll but the financial position was hardly great before that was it? If we're in the same boat then why haven't they come out and told us? The money was there for N'Zogbia on 31st Jan and we're £4m up this summer and have moved 6 or 7 off the wagebill. We've made bids for Gameiro and Gervinho this summer apparently so cash is available it's just not being spent. If our finances are in such a bad way then why is Pardew continually slavvering on at getting a striker and a LB in before the window shuts? They could defuse a lot of the anger by telling the fans where the cash has gone or where it needs to go. Lots of people would accept it if there was transparency but there's not. It's empty words and gestures. Any trust and faith is gone.

Since I was born in 1976 I've only experienced 6 losses to these cunts. Two of those were while I was still in nappies. I know what it's like to lose to this lot and it's fucking horrible. The stick I get from friends and family is awful - all good natured but losing to Sunderland is like shitting yourself in public. It just doesn't bear thinking about.

I wouldn't go that far (see bold) but at this moment in time I 100% agree with those other sentiments. Hopefully they'll have been remedied by 1st September and we can march on to a decent first half of the season. We've got no LB at all to play, only 3 CB's and Ameobi and Lovenkrands are still getting a game. That represents failure in my opinion. We've had 8 months to scout players, we've had a £35m windfall to strengthen things and we're left in this position. I hate being negative and would much prefer to be upbeat and bullish about things but I can't call it any other way.

I don't like the way the club is being run. I don't trust the manager or the owner or the bloke running the club. I'm not happy about the lack of investment in the playing staff, the lies that Pardew comes out with nor the reluctance to replace key players/positions. I don't like the fact that our best players want to leave because they have far more ambition than the club. I don't like the fact our team has been unable to play together pre-season for numerous admin fuck-ups. I'm annoyed the club hasn't got a recognised LB on the books. I'm not going to pretend I'm fucking happy that my club is being run into the fucking ground. We're a fucking shambles on and off the park and that is 100% down to Ashley, Llambias and Pardew. If anyone is walking around with a smile on their face when thinking about the state of the club then there's something seriously wrong. It is what it is - a fucking disgraceful state to be in.

They can call me what they fucking like as long as they do what's best for the football team. Unfortunately they haven't got a fucking clue.
