  1. As much as I whine like a big girl's blouse about our lack of spending this summer. I wouldn't take anyone of the Mackems new boys. I don't think the horrible little man has learnt a thing in the transfer market. They'll not go down but at the same time, they'll be nothing for anyone to worry about. Yeah, but if Keane can keep them from being relegated for a couple seasons, he'll be seen as a miracle worker and can get a better job. So, he's probably doing the job he needs to do. TBH spending somewhere in the region 75million over two years should have made that a given. There's some stinking irony in that post somewhere. Where ? The words.
  2. Keane's a very good player but £20m is madness considering his age. Good bit of business for Spurs imo.
  3. Just disable your sigs and the problem will go away. Cheers the b##tards have got me as well Happy to help.
  4. I've always said I want what's best for the club in this whole situation. Now it looks like the club and Keegan have backed him then he's obviously coming back into contention for a spot in the first XI. That's a fact. It's happening. No amount of wailing and bitching to each other in the pub is going to change it. As much of a twat I think Barton is, and I do think he's a twat, I hope he has a fantastic season for Newcastle United.
  5. Agree with that. A lot of people are doing a lot of flapping for some reason. We've always taken the piss out of the mackems for being obsessed with us.... Chill out chaps.
  6. Good signing. 1878, whats going on with Fernandes? Would be a great signing for us and surely you wouldn't bring in him and Moutinho? No idea what's going on, I don't think we'll sign him unfortunately. It's dragged on for too long without any noises being made about it. He's back training with Valencia for their pre-season now and some quotes came out from their new manager saying how well he'd been doing so who knows? They might even keep him after all. Who is their new manager? Emery Ooh, you are awful, but I like you. :shepherd:
  7. That was the general gist of what he was saying. Hope he's bluffing like.
  8. Henry does have digs at times but I think he'd be over the moon if things were going well for us, he'd be the first to praise the club. Think you're absolutely right, if we get it right. I'm getting more cynical the older I get. Christ knows what I'll be like when I'm your age.
  9. The Times isn't a rag though in fairness Part of News Corporation, owned by Murdoch, written by wankers. Do you believe every word they print? Only if Henry Winter writes it. The best of a very bad bunch. And even Winter has been known to have the odd dig from time to time.... Not got a problem with Owen's quotes, more the way they're spun.

  11. More shite-slinging from the rags. Whatever next? Used to annoy me but not any more. They know the square root of fuck all.
  12. Surprised he's not stripped it off and thrown it at the photographer, clenched his fists and asked him for more noise.
  13. Why is reorganising the club doom and gloom? It's the whole "jam tomorrow" mentality. We've got a billionaire owner - why haven't spent £150m yet?
  14. Like Modric you mean? Obviously we're prepared to spend big money on players we believe are good enough, in the right positions and at the right age. For older players we're not prepared to pay out huge fee's and I support that strategy 100%. £18 million for Arshavin is a monumental waste of money. yeah, Modric is an example. Tbh I think something around £14m (taking into account Midds' idea his price will drop for CL registration, even though we don't fall into that) for a 28 year old that has shown quality isn't too bad, unless those involved in our wheelings and dealings have plans to put all, or a bulk of that £14m elsewhere of similar quality. The thing is though, Zenit could leave him out of any CL games before August 31st which would mean they could push it right to the limit and maybe get a little more for him as clubs get a bit twitchy for a quality player. It'll be interesting to see how this one pans out.
  15. For £23m? nar not that, but I'd still be surprised if thats the fee he leaves for. The price will drop like a stone as Zenit's first CL game approaches. No way will any buying club want him cup-tied. He'll end up going for about £15m top whack. I agree. And for £15m I don't think a billionnaire owner can complain, although he's not as young as Modric. Unless of course, Ashley is that unwilling to spend. No way will he join us like, especially as we appear to not be offering over-the-top wages like we used to, and don't have Europe. I'd just be sick as f*** to see him end up "daan the laaayne". I think he sees himself as a 'Champions League' player and would be unwilling to drop to the UEFA Cup. However, if Spurs offer enough (to Zenit and Arshavin himself) then I can see him as a Spurs player, no problem. He'll sign for the $$$ because he knows he might not get another chance of a massive contract. If Arshavin moves to WHL it won't be because down to the flexibility of our salary structure, we probably can't match what Zenit are paying him. If he does move, I think it will be because he wants a move to a better league, get better exposure and seek a more high profile club in a season or two. Much the same as Berbatov tbh. Given his age and the fact he's coming off a fantastic Euro '08, he'll never have a better chance to demand a top-drawer contract. If Spurs offer it, he'll sign. If Fiorentina or anyone else offer more - he'll go there instead. He seems to be very money orientated.
