Always felt that left back was a position that could be ‘coached’. If you’ve got a talented player who’s reasonably intelligent, you can develop them into a good full back. It’ll take time, patience and experience but he’ll gradually improve. N’Zogbia has the physical attributes and he’d make a good left back. He’d just have to curb his instincts to attack and have a bit more discipline but with the right coaching and a bit of faith, he could be at least as good/steady as Bernard was for us.

He needs regular first team football at a decent level. He's got 4 strikers in front of him in the pecking order and would only get a handful of games if he stayed here so a season long loan to a Championship side would be an ideal solution for all parties imo.

If someone had come in with a £7m bid for him in June, I'd have sold him without too many regrets. However, it's now the back end of July and it's cutting it fine to get the players in we needed 6 weeks ago without adding a CM to the shopping list.

Celtic always take any game against an English side very seriously. Doesn't seem to matter to them if it's pre-season or a testimonial, they'll be up for it. Considering we're nursing a few knocks, I wouldn't be too surprised if we actually lost this one.

On a side note, I think Pre-Match threads are completely pointless anyways, there are usually about 3 for each match and it consists of a few decently lengthed posts and then 5 pages of people just predicting the formation and team line up (often the same as other members). It's really boring to look at and there's nothing to read or really 'discuss' That's a fair point. Often, the pre-match stuff is just random formations and the odd person choosing 12 players or whatever... Yeah, that being the point. If they're not in the pre-match thread, they'll be in various other threads. Chill. I was just wondering how letting one thread roll for the duration compared to having 3 separate ones.
